Yesterday, we had discussed the meaning of the Shanti Patha. For this particular Upanishad, the Shanti Patha is Bhadram Karne Vihi Shuniyamadevaha What is the purpose of Shanti Patha? First of all, praying for the grace of God, so that all the obstacles can be removed. Body, mind, our only instruments, either for prayers or Shreyas, be in a fit condition by acquiring all the fitness to pursue the path of Shreyas or Mukti, which is possible only by the grace of God. And finally, by His grace, may I obtain a Sadguru. May I also acquire Shraddha Bhakti. And may I never stop on the way. And may I realize God. May all the troubles, sufferings that stem from Adhyatmika, Adhipautika and Adhitevika sources be completely erased, so that I can claim my own true nature, which is called Swarajya Siddhi. So there was a great soul. His name was Ashvalayana. Probably the son of Ashvalayana. And he was a famous Rishi. There are so many mantras that were authored by him. And Atha means what? After becoming a fit person. What did he do? Because we do not get the history. We do not know whether he composed all the mantras ascribed to him after realizing God, which is most likely, or even after progressing in spiritual life for a long time, he might have composed also, according to his own experiences, most likely after the realization. So what did this Ashvalayana do? He approached. And first I will read out the mantra. The simple English translation would be Then Ashvalayana approached the Lord Parameshwari and prostrated, etc. And he said, Bhagawan, teach me the highest science of reality, cultivated always by good people, which is ever a hidden secret for man, a knowledge by which a wise man, discarding all sins, can reach the highest Purusha. Now I will give a simple translation of concerned words. Aum. Always before starting any undertaking, and this is the greatest undertaking, of surrendering ourselves at the feet of the Guru and trying to acquire, everything is possible only by the grace of God. Nothing is possible without the grace of God. As I explained yesterday, there are two words, Aumandatha, for which Bhagavad Gita adds Tat and Sat. These are called Mangalika. It is very auspicious. That means whatever defects may be there, obstacles might come, everything will be totally destroyed by the grace of God. Because Aum stands for Paramatman. And Paramatman is of the nature of knowledge itself. So knowledge destroys all sorts of ignorance. Obstacles are nothing, but some manifestations of this Agnanam only. Especially the attachment to worldly things, either to our own body, to our families, or to objects of enjoyment, even to hatred, dislike, fault-finding. They are the greatest attachments. We are not able to give them up. We will see if we focus our own attention upon our mind, which is inside. We all read and hear, again and again, we should not criticize anybody, find fault with anybody. If anything is creating us trouble, or even giving us happiness, no one is responsible excepting our own karma phala, which Bhagawan is bringing at the appropriate time. What does Bhagawan do? He has a name. That name is Vidhata. So visesha karma phalane diyate. So that He who distributes for each one of us, according to our past karma, the results of our past karma. But wherever we are, in this birth, or after 500 births, 5000 births, appropriate time is there, He knows best, and He will bring either suffering, or happiness, either progress, or downfall. But by the grace of God, everything will be sarvamangala, in the form of grace. Divine Mother is the grace of the Brahman. So this Asvalayana, Bhagavantam Parameshtim, Parameshti means Brahma, Saguna Brahma, Srishti Kartha, in Sri Ramakrishna's words, the Divine Mother. The same Brahman, when I look at Him as active, that means Srishti Sthithilaya, I call Him by the name Divine Mother, Shakti. So Parameshti means Saguna Brahma, so we take the popular meaning, Brahma. And why Brahma? Because Gnanam must come, knowledge must come, from knowledge only. And where from does it come? Gnanam will not come from Agnanam. Only Gnanam will come from Gnanam. And where from Agnanam comes, the doubt may come, to some of our doubting Thomas's, that also comes from Brahman only, in the form of Saguna Brahma, Brahma. But why does God give us Agnanam? It is not that God gives us Agnanam. If somebody had got jaundice, somebody has got, what is called, some problems with the eye, cataract for example, so that is not the problem of light, and not the activity of the sun or moon, but it is a defect, in the receiving capacity. That is what is called Agnanam. And our receiving capacity, comes both through our body, as well as mind only. So all knowledge comes, from Parameshti only. What did this Ashvalayana do? Upasamethya. Samethya means, to approach. Upasamethya means, very closely approaching. What does closely approaching mean? So many people came to Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother. Most of them did not take initiation, or ask Him about God. Only a few. And they are called disciples, or future monks, devotees. What did they do? They wanted to ask Him, or without asking also, they had a quest. And if there were no quest, they would never have, got what they got. So if we have to count, how many devotees are there of Sri Ramakrishna, we have to count, very few people. Very funny thing happened you know, once Divine Mother, had shown him in a vision. Shown Sri Ramakrishna. So many devotees will come. And he had childlike faith. And he waited years together. And then one day he became depressed. Why? Because he asked a devotee, to count his devotees. Including those who, visited only once perhaps. There were only about 32 or 33 devotees. And Divine Mother had shown, millions of devotees. So he became depressed. Did I see wrongly? Is it my imagination? Then Madhur Babu, saw him in that condition, and Baba, why are you so depressed? And then he narrated the incident and said, where do you see? Then Madhur Babu of course you know, he could not tolerate the depression of Sri Ramakrishna. So he immediately said to Sri Ramakrishna, Baba, I am more than, equal to more than 100 people. So you count me as 100 devotees. So Sri Ramakrishna of course, could not lift his respondency. What Divine Mother showed him, was not immediately they will come. But as Swami Vivekananda said, Sri Ramakrishna will be in his subtle body, for thousands of years. Until the next incarnation comes. So until that time, there are people, either openly or secretly, they borrow the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna. And anybody who borrows, and believes in them, and follows the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna, is a devotee. Should be considered as a devotee. We know now, millions are there. Perhaps if I email Sri Ramakrishna, then he would be very happy now. Anyway, so this, he approached God himself. Because, knowledge must come from God, and immortality, Sat must come from God, Chit must come from God, Ananda also must come from God only. So having approached, how? Upasamethya, in the proper manner, after acquiring, Sadhana Chatishtaya Sampatthi. That means, after becoming fit, an Adhikari. How? As we saw in the Mundaka Upanishad, Samitpanahi Shrotriyam Brahmanistam. Samitpanahi, as I discussed earlier, means with firewood, symbolizing, I am prepared, to offer myself, into the fire of knowledge. That means, my whole life, I will convert into a Yagna. So, I surrender myself totally to you. If we throw something in the fire, then, that object will, turn out into ashes. So also, I am ready, to surrender myself, into you, and I become nothing, because I am nothing, and I will become you, because you are everything. This is the meaning of, Samupetya, Uvacha. Then he asked, Uvacha means, normal, meaning is, he said. But here, Arjuna Uvacha, not Arjuna is talking, he is questioning. So, how do we know? Tad viddhi pranipatena, pariprashnena sevaya, etc. This is Bhagavad Gita. So he is pleased, he must have stayed for some time, Guru must have tested him, and immediately, he asked him. What did he ask? Very straight forward. Adhehi bhagavo, brahma vidyam orishtham. Adhehi, teach me. That is the normal meaning. But here, Adhehi means, help me realize, Brahman. Because, there is a popular saying, Brahma vid, Brahma eva bhavati, in where Brahman, becomes Brahman himself. So Bhagavo, he is addressing, Hey Bhagavan, Oh Lord, You are God, and if I come to you, You are, out of Your compassion, You are going, to make me realize. There is no doubt about it. Hiram Krishna used to say, that you have fallen into, a cobra, king cobra, not into any ordinary, water snake. At best, you will croak, two or three times. And the Asvalayana knows it, and then he went and asked him, Yes, definitely, you are like that. You are Brahman, and, you can save me. So, Bhagavan, you please help me, by Your grace, to realize. It also has another meaning. If we go to any ordinary guru, he can tell us the, truth. But, sadhana we have to do. But, if we go to God, Mukti is very easy. In this connection, several times I had mentioned, there are four types of Mukti. Mukti means, Brahman realization, actually. Then only, one knows, I am Brahman. Then only, one becomes free. So, there are four types of Mukti, about which I explained, Krama Mukti, Jeevan Mukti, Videha Mukti. But, there is, a fourth Mukti, of which Ram Krishna, talked about it, Kripa Siddha. He did not use the word Mukti, said Kripa Siddha. By grace, a person becomes perfect. And that is what, Kashi, is the fourth Mukti. Whoever, sincerely prays, to come here, and, desires, to die, in this Mahashmashana, what is it? I am going to die, and, I am going to become you. With this faith, if anybody comes to this Kashi, and, manages to stick here, and give up the body, he will become, Mukta, immediately, by the grace of God. This is called, Kripa Mukti. So, this Ashwalayana knows, O Bhagawan, if, you, bestow your grace, I can get, Brahma Vidya, very quickly. And then, he also says, do you want, any other Vidya? No. This is, Vidyam, Varishtam, of all the, types of knowledge, Brahma Vidya is, Varishtam means, the super most, supreme. Why? Because, everything gives, a limited, result. Brahma Vidya, alone gives, unlimited result. That is why, how do we know, Sadha, always, Seviyamanam, it is, sought after, it is, run after, and people do, all Sadhanas, for what purpose? So that, they can get, God himself, Seviyamanam. Remember, in very beginning of the, Bhagavad Gita, Mahatmyam, we see that one, Sarvopanishad, Dogdha, Gopalanandana, Partho Vatsaha, Sudhihi, Bhokta, Gita Amritam, Mahat, that Sudhihi, those who are endowed, with the right type of knowledge, they are called here, Sadbhihi, by Satpurushas, who are the Satpurushas, and those, who have gone, through this fire, burning fire, Cauldron of Samsara, understood, it appears to be, giving happiness, Kshanika Sukha, but it burns people, afterwards. Not only that, from beginning and end, only Dukham, there is no doubt about it, that's why, those who are awakened souls, Sada, Sadbhi, Seviyamanam, and this word, Seviyamanam, means, served, it also means, approaching, approach, those who know, what to give, what you are seeking, they know, only approach them, and then serve them, by surrendering to them, by the appropriate questions, and Sevaya, and you should do, as Nishchala Dasa, points out in the Vichara Sagara, everything should be offered, at the feet of the Sadguru, then only, he is called a real Sishya, Sada, is Brahma Vidya, Sada, not once, until they realize God, Sadbhi, by Satpurushas, Adhikarika Purushas, Seviyamanam, they go on seeking it, and not only that, Nigoodham, it is not something, which is there for public auction, like eBay, Nigoodham means, very deeply, hidden, that is, there is a beautiful saying of Swami, Premanandaji Maharaj, so once during his talks, with his devotees, he was telling, there was a village, and one day a vendor, a seller, came there with a basket, selling, Prema, Prema, Love, Love, those who ever want to buy, I am ready to sell, somebody ran, and asked that person, what is the price, of your material, you are going to sell, and then he said, your head, you will have to cut off your head, and give, then only in return, I will give you this Prema, that means what, only those who do not have, any Ahamkara, only they are fit to love, and nobody else, and it is worth, so why is it worth, Yaya, that means, by obtaining, that deeply hidden, Brahma Vidya, what does he do, Achirath, immediately, Sarva Paapam, all the Paapas, Vyapohya, are totally destroyed, first, what happens, like fire, Sarva Karmane, Jnana Agnehe, Bhasmasat Kurte Adha, in the Bhagavad Gita, all Karmas, are Kala Paapas, even Dharma Karmas, yes, Adharma Karmas, of course, Dharma Karmas, yes, all Paapas, yes, but Paapa here means, from the Vedantic point of view, the word Paapa, has got three meanings, the first meaning is, what we understand, all the evil deeds, that people have done, we have been doing, that is called Paapa, first meaning, second, there are many good people, and they are doing, lot of good Karmas, and they have obtained, lot of Punyam, and that Punyam, is second meaning of Paapa, and third meaning of Paapa, is Agnanam itself, why, because, if there is Paapam, rebirth is inevitable, if there is Punyam, rebirth is inevitable, to exhaust that Punyam and Paapam, but, so long as Agnanam is there, Karma will not stop, Nahi Kakshit, Nahi Shanavapi Kaschit, Ishtati Akarmakrit, as Bhagavan declares in the Bhagavad Gita, if we are alive, even for a single second, we cannot stop breathing, we cannot stop thinking, because Prana means Shakti, Shakti means movement, movement means activity, but here, by obtaining this, Highest Vrishtam, Brahma Vidya Vrishtam, Epokhya, in a second, like light destroys, instantaneously, every bit of darkness, Sri Ram Krishna, our Master, gives a beautiful example, so imagine a cave, for a thousand years, it is completely in darkness, you just go, take a little bit of one matchstick, and strike against the sides of the matchbox, as soon as it is lighted up, how much time does it take, for the thousand years, darkness to disappear, simultaneous, light, where light, there is no darkness, where there is darkness, there will be no light, so, Epokhya means instantaneous, but, okay, Punya, Papa are gone, only that much, no, Parat Parampurusham, Yati Vidvan, Vidvan means learned one, and here, who is a Vidvan, so there is a beautiful definition, of this word Vidvan, in the Bhagavad Gita, we get, Vidya Vinaya Sampanne, Pramane Gavi Hastini, Shunichaiva Swapakaicha, Pandithaha Samyadarshinaha, Pandithaha, that is called Vidvan, what is the speciality of a Panditha, he has got Pandha, Pandha means, Atma Gnanam, and what does he do, Sarvatra Brahma Darshanam, let him see, a saintly soul, let him see, an elephant, a cow, a dog, an eater of dog, there are no different things, everything is Brahman, appearing in that form, so not only, all the Paapams, Punyams, all Karmaphala, is completely destroyed, Parat Parampurusham, Yati Vidvan, Parat Param, higher than the highest, what is the higher than the highest, highest is not highest the higher, no, highest means, what we know as the highest, is called Maya, is called Vidya, is called the Samsara, if we are honest, ask, each one of us must ask ourselves, do I really believe in God, is God real to me, or is the world real to me, as I am asking the question, if you find, somebody with a gun, running towards us, then what do we do, we forget God, and try to take shelter, that means what, this person running with a gun, is reality, God is not a reality, why, if God is a reality, I will not run away, because God is there, to protect me, but no, Parat means, Maya, Vidya, Samsara, lower knowledge, but this is highest knowledge, which Param means what, highest knowledge, higher than the highest, what does it mean, it means, that which destroys, all the lower knowledge, that is called Parat Param, and knowledge is equated with, Brahma, that is why, Brahma Gnanam and Brahman, there is no difference at all, like, the sun, and his light, and the fire, and the heat, and the milk, and its whiteness, this is what we get from, Sriram Krishna's gospel, so, he is that, what is that Parat Param, he is described, Purusham, Purusham means what, Sarvataha, he who is, everywhere, he who, dwells everywhere, we have seen, in the, and that is what Arjuna saw, in this, a Vidwan, who realizes, through this Brahma Gnanam, realizes means, knowing, that I thought, I was the body and mind, I thought I was a person, I thought I was one among, billions of objects, in this world, but no, I am really, that, Ekam, that is Nityam, Vimalam, Achalam, Nitya, Shuddha, Buddha, Mukta, Sarupaha, I am that, what happens, he gets Mukti, what is the essence of it, I am seeking that highest, through which, I am able to transcend, all those things, so, Bhagawan, you help me, because, any amount of effort, that we do, we have to understand, is limited, why is it limited, every effort, is done with the help of, in the, through three factors, what are they, time, space and causation, so you start a work, and you end the work, that is called, time limitation, you start in one place, and you, you move, you change, that is called, space limitation, and then causality, you are bound, by your own mind, by your own, limitation of your thoughts, your ideals, so, through this limited, nobody is ever going to, obtain the, unlimited, through finite, one cannot realize the, infinite, so in this, Upanishad, the disciple has described, he was endowed with faith, he was an Adhikari, he approached God directly, do we have any instances, where people approached God, yes, we saw in the Mundaka Upanishad, also, that, Brahma, Devanam Prathamaha, Sambhava, Brahma, are they, first among the Gods, means Nirguna Brahma, manifested himself as, Saguna Brahma, and he created, all the deities, as we have seen, in Ayutthaya, in Krishna Upanishad, in practically every Upanishad, that we have gone through, creation is meant only, for one purpose, to point out, that which is created, points out to a creator, and, you have to reach, that creator, then only, you will become completely free, so, that was the question, like, many Upanishads, in fact every Upanishad, directly or indirectly, this Kaivalya Upanishad, also in the form of, dialogue between Guru and Sishya, the disciple, approached, like Bhrigu approached Varuna, like Narada approached Sanathkumara, like Swami Vivekananda, seeking madly for God realization, approached Sri Ramakrishna, now, Sri Ramakrishna's life, is the greatest illustration, in the modern times, that is why, any number of times, I am going to quote from there, Sri Ramakrishna wanted, to realize God, through, in this world, at the beginning, Sri Ramakrishna himself said, I had no idea, that I am going to, turn to spiritual life, I thought, I will follow the footsteps, of my father, who was a married person, who had of course children, because I am the proof, and then, he lived, an absolutely, truthful life, like Satyakama, he never deviated, from truth, he was prepared, to give up everything, for Shudhiram, the father of Sri Ramakrishna, truth was God, not God is a truth, but truth is God, that is why, by adhering to truth, he only adhered to God, and he passed away, only uttering the name of, Raghuveer, three times, and then he passed away, he led such a saintly life, and he is called, a Rishi, by all of us, Rishis, can be householders, I told you, here was one Rishi, who was a, householder, and God himself had chosen, to be born, in his family, and to be served by him, so, Ramakrishna, said, I just wanted to live, a married life, get married, but live a life, following the footsteps of my father, then what happens, he himself was narrating, but then, I had to take up, this priesthood, in the temple of Dakshineshwar Kali, and as soon as I took up, something, like a storm had overtaken me, did not allow me, to do anything, until, nearly, 12 to 14 years, I had to do, a manushika sadhana, super human sadhana, but the point is, Ramakrishna's mind was, praising, for God realization, and he was beating his head, every, after every sunset, oh mother, another day is gone in vain, when are you going to, show yourself to me, is this deity, whom I am worshipping, is it true, does God exist, remember, what Ramakrishna calls, Divine Mother, and what we call, either Narayana, or Shiva, or Vishnu, or, Jesus, Allah, God, Satori, Paradise, all are, synonymous terms, unable to understand, oh, some people label, Sri Ramakrishna, as a Shakta, idiosity, can go no further, he was neither a Vedantin, nor a Shakta, he was a lover of God, he was the highest sadhaka, what did he do, he prayed, oh mother, I am a moorkha, I am an idiot, I am an ignorant person, I know nothing, you please take my hand, you please guide me, and whatever you want me to do, whatever you want me to speak, whatever you want me to sing, everything you make me do, I am willing to be a perfect instrument, in your hand, and the Divine Mother, had done that, that is, Ramakrishna approached directly, only for our sake, later on, he accepted various gurus, many, many gurus, for our sake, and also, to establish, to give value, to Guru Seshya Sampradaya, otherwise, we might, mistakenly, follow Sri Ramakrishna's footsteps, he realized, God, without any Guru, so I will escape, Guru Dakshina, and all those things, I can get freely, because Divine Mother doesn't want anything, all that I have to shout, I surrender, I surrender, everyday, I have to shout, why? because, after surrendering, I take back, so that I can use it, in the evening, or next day, so, this, Asvalayana, also, took refuge, in Bhagawan directly, because, he is the propagator, what is called, Jnana Sampradaya Karta, he is the propagator, of this Guru Seshya Sampradaya, and so, like Sri Ramakrishna, he also prayed to God, like Ramana Maharshi, he only prayed to Shiva, and then, he obtained everything, but, Guru is very necessary, because, without Guru, the Vidya that we get, without Guru, may not be useful, that is why, there is a beautiful, teaching, in the Chandogya, Acharyadhi, eva vidya, vidita, sadhistam, prapatiti, only, that teaching, obtained from a Sadguru, alone can, reach us, to our destination, and then, in the Gita also, in the fourth chapter, evam parampara praptam, that is, this was broken, this lineage of Guru parampara, etc., so, it is very important, one must approach Guru, and, one must lay bare, not to, having one thing in the mind, and asking somebody, like somebody asked me, many years back, I want to put a simple question, and what is it? simple question, I want to obtain Nirvikalpa Samadhi, what is the shortest cut? I said, the shortest cut is, I take a thick rod, and give a good blow on your head, this is the shortest way for Samadhi, otherwise, it is the longest way, so, we must approach a Guru, and how, as I said, samitpanihi, that means, adana chatustaya sampatthihi, shraddha, viveka, vairagya, shamadama, dishatka sampatthi, and mumukshutvam, so, this Asvalayana, was a fit person, he approached Brahman, himself, how? after obtaining, shamadama, it is a vidhi porvakam samadhi, and then, we see the same thing in the, Mundaka Upanishad, very first mantra, Brahma was the, first manifestation, he is called the Saguna Brahma, who is Vishwasya Kartha, creator of this world, and the protector of this world, and though not said, he is also the, recycler, that is, Brahma, Vishnu, Maheshwara, and then, what did he do? Saha Brahma, he found his own, eldest son, Yeshta Putra, who was called, Atharvana, and he gave everything, and Brahma Vidya, is mentioned there, Sarva Vidya Pratishtha, means what? It is the, substratum, of all Vidyas, what does it mean? It means, every Vidya, ultimately, must lead, to this, Brahma Vidya only, the purpose of any Vidya, be a doctor, be a lawyer, be anybody, but, ultimately, all this knowledge, has only one function, to lead us to, God, and then, what did he do? Later on, his disciple, Atharvana, and he propagated, to his disciple, his disciple, his disciple, ultimately, the last disciple, mentioned in the, Mundaka Upanishad, was called, Shaunaka, and then, he approached, this, Angirasan, who was, one of the, grandchildren of the, Brahmaji, or, grand disciple of, Brahmaji, and, Vidivat Upasannahapapraksha, and, duly, in a, formal way, he also asked, good luck, by knowing, which, I can, become the, knower of everything, and, Mundaka Upanishad, said, that, everything, can be known, only by, knowing God, Tirankrishna, in his, inimitable, similes, surpassing, Kalidasa, he tells, it. Shambhu, was a, rich man, and, you go and, make friendship, with the gardener, with the watchman, with one of the, servants, how much, property you have got, etcetera, etcetera, they will never be able, to tell, because the master, was not going to discuss, all these things, with any of them, what to do, Joshakuri, and, by whatever means, if necessary, push the, watchman aside, and, get acquainted, with Shambhu, then he will only, tell you, how many, what is, what is called, stock market, certificate, he has got, how much properties, he has got, where all the properties, are there, because, he knows everything, he will tell you, what is, what is Tirankrishna, telling, if you approach, Bhagawan himself, and that is why, every Guru, is a Bhagawan, he will take you, to the highest, that is why, every disciple, every aspirant, who is aspiring, to reach the highest goal, he must serve, whom? Bhagawan, but in what form? We have seen, in the form of the Guru, that is why we say, Guru, Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo, Maheshwaraha, not only that, if we serve our Guru, that is what is said, and I remember, beautiful, we must remember, a beautiful story, again from the Chandogya Upanishad, there was a young man, his name was Satyakama, and he wanted to obtain, Brahma Vidya, so, in those days, there was a condition, the Guru, inevitably asks, to vast Jati, that is, caste, do you belong, because, the caste doesn't mean, that they do not teach, the unworthy people, it means, only a Brahmana, is one, who is a worthy disciple, not in our sense of understanding, he was a born Brahmana, no, Guna Brahmana, so he was, endowed with lot of Sattva Guna, Sattva Guna Sampannaha, so, that was, Sadguru will always, ask like that, then, Satyakama, because, he was totally dedicated, to this desire, he approached his mother, asked, who is my father, and she, was, a greatest lady, in the whole world, she did not hide, a horrible truth, I served many men, I don't know, who your father is, my name is, Jabala, your name is Satyakama, therefore, your name is, Satyakama Jabala, that's why, he was known as, Satyakama Jabali, Jabala's Apatya, is Jabali, so, he went to his Guru, and as usual, as expected, Guru asked him, and he said, frankly, I asked my mother, he told me, that she doesn't know, who her husband was, or, because of whom, I was born, that means, I am a bastard, many people, will not use that word, but we have to be, very frank about it, and the Guru, appreciated his frankness, and said, such a, terrible truth, can come only, from a Brahmana's mouth, and from, nobody else, so, immediately, I will teach you, then what did he do, the story doesn't end, so, Seva is necessary, you take, a few, what is called, very weak, cows, and go into the forest, nearby, and do not return back, until they become, one thousand strong, and then he goes, day and night, he was looking after them, as if he is serving, Bhagawan himself, God himself, his Guru himself, and then, he forgot, time, space, causation, several years, had passed, and then one day, in the evening, when he sat down, he will, lit the fire, and sit, what you call, Sandhya Vandana, that much, he was there, doing, suddenly, a voice came, and then, from the fire, it became a, bull, one of the bulls, O Sathyakama, you have been assigned, by your Guru, and asked not to return, until we become, one thousand, and now we have become, one thousand, and we are strong, we are not weaklings anymore, take us home, but the bull did not stop there, the fire, which, this, Sathyakama was serving, took, or manifested, in the form of the bull, and said, I will teach you, one fourth of the, Brahman, and then, the other creatures, will teach you, the other parts, so Sathyakama Jabala, got one fourth of Brahma Gnanam, imparted by the bull, he got one fourth of it, directly from the fire, and, one fourth of it, by a swan, and one fourth of it, by a water fowl, called Madgu bird, and when he reached, Guru's ashram, several days have passed, and then Guru, one look at him and said, that, my boy, your face is shining, like a knower of Brahman, who taught you, and then he says, other than human beings, but I wish, to, obtain the knowledge, because it is said, only that Vidya that comes out, from the mouth of a Sadguru, that alone will become fruitful, and then the Guru, was highly pleased, he taught, exactly the same thing, and then, Swami Vivekananda, he gives his commentary, real Guru is Sachidananda, as Shri Ramakrishna says, and then that Guru is within us, and when we are ready, the truth, which is all the time, the good arm, deeply hidden, in the cave of our hearts, Rajyoti Rajyoti, Ujjwala Hridikandara, Hridikandara, Hridaya Kamalamadhe, Rajyatam Nirvikalpam, so, it is there within us, what does the Guru do, he doesn't give us, he simply opens the door, my boy, what you are seeking, you yourself, Tat Tvam Asi, and, if the person is, really fit, for receiving that Shravanam of the Mahavakyam, immediately, like Shri Ramakrishna, only once, Totapuri had given him, that Aham Brahmasmi Mahavakya, and immediately he understood, he realized, Aham Brahmasmi, Totapuri was shocked, 40 years I had to struggle, but my disciple, had attained to it, in a twinkling of a second, where just he uttered, and asked him to meditate, and Shri Ramakrishna for 3 days, he never knew, he passed beyond time, space and causation, so, depending upon, Shravanam is enough, that is why many teachers say, Shravanam of the Mahavakya, will instantaneously bestow, Brahma Jnana, but in case, the person is not fit, he has to do Manana, what is Manana, get rid of all doubts, until Guru Shastra Upadesha, becomes the only reality, and what we experience, becomes only, a Mithya, seeming reality, not real reality, and once, we are convinced, then our mind will not rest, until it is realized, until we become one with it, and that is called Nidhidhyasanam, so, this is what happens, Guru is very important, Guru is not a human being, Satchidananda alone, is the Guru, he is also called Garuda, because Guru carries God, in his heart, and transfers him, into the disciple's heart, as it were, not really, Durga Puja, that is one of the symbolisms, that a mirror is shown, all this time, the mother who is within, is, we are unable to see within, so we want to see her outside, in the form of image, but once, through devotion we worship her, once we are capable, of seeing her within ourselves, then Visarjana, we don't need, the help of anything, just look at this marvellous life, of Sri Ramakrishna, he was worshipping the Divine Mother, within the temple, in the form of Mother Kali, as that image, but very soon, that image has disappeared, it became a living thing, guiding him, do this first, do this second, because Sri Ramakrishna, prayed wholeheartedly, and then what happened, he, within a few months, he understood, that what I am worshipping, is really Brahman, and this Brahman, is worshipping himself, throughout the world, that is called, Virat Puja, every flower bearing tree, fruit bearing tree, or root bearing tree, everything, the rivers, the sun and the moon, everything is doing Arathrikam, eternal Arathrikam, to this Divine Lord, all the time, Sri Ramakrishna said, that the day, one day, I went to pluck the flowers, and I could not pluck, I saw, the whole world, is in the form of, as I said, the fruits, the flowers, the trees, and the rivers, and the mountains, and the sky, etc., are worshipping, they are born, they are created, only for this worship, and I had that vision, after that, I could not do, any physical worship, and that is what, happens to us also, so slowly, slowly, we also have to see, that divinity everywhere, the seeing divinity is called, true worship of the Divine Lord, anyway, many, many times, I mentioned, that Guru Nanak, he was once, wanting to enter a Hindu temple, but the priest did not allow him, seeing his, ghastly appearance, like a Pishacha, dirty cloths, etc., as a Sadhu, that came to Dakshineshwar, was not allowed, even to sit, with the beggars, beggars did not allow him, so he went to the refuge, and then, put his hands on the dog, and then, dog also did not mind, he also did not mind, what was he seeing, and Swamiji learnt a great lesson, from that notch girl, so Shri Ram Krishna saw, his Virat Pooja, and then, all these things have fallen, so what is the point, we are discussing, if our Guru Bhakti is real, if we really long, for liberation, the God himself, will deign to come in the form of the Guru, and he does not give us, anything new, because each soul is potentially Divine, we ourselves, will be awakened, when the Divine Guru, touches or looks at us, that is called Shambhavi Deeksha, and then, immediately, we, awaken to the fact, Aham Brahmasmi, like Rishi Bhamadeva, now look, what about all of us, so, there is a beautiful saying, in the Shanti Parva, of Mahabharata, find out, whether we fall into this, and if we are honest, we do fall into it, so Vinodena, entertainment, it could be Shastra Vinodena, or it could be Kavya, literature, so these people, they go on doing this, good people, these are called good worldly people, but what do the, bad worldly people do, some dirty habits are there, if they are not happy, they want to sleep, people oversleep, because they are not happy, and when they are awake, how does their time pass, go on fighting with each other, now look at this world, nations are fighting with nations, is it Kalaha or not, are they Murkhas or not, because, if everybody really, as they claim, we are all devotees of God, they will never, never do these things, therefore, the Ashwalaya himself says, this Brahmavidya, Sadasadvi Savyamanah, and it is, always one is, one seeks after, only Brahmavidya is sought after, and all those people, they must be, the greatest people on earth, and they do it, with all the faith that they can, gather, because it is not, very easily available, Bhagavad Gita, echoes this, Kathopanishad mantra, very rare, why, because this Atman, is hidden, open, like open secret, Atma Gnanam is secret, therefore Kathopanishad, this ancient, the Divine Lord, is everywhere, what is Gudham, what is secret, He who is, everywhere, but, in different forms, we see a dog, we see a cow, we see an elephant, we see a man, we see a woman, but like Sri Ramakrishna, we are unable to see, Rama and Sita, the beautiful first mantra, tells us, I want to see, Brahman everywhere, please help me, realize that, and only you can do it, because you are Brahma, Saguna Brahma himself, Om Jananim Sharudam Devim Ramakrishnam Jagat Gurum Pada Padmetayoh Sritva Pranamami Muhurmoho, May Shri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother, Swami Vivekananda bless us all with Bhakti. Jai Ramakrishna.
