Om Jananim Sharadaam Deivim Ramakrishnam Jagadgurum Pada Padme Tayo Sritvaha Pranamaami Mohoru Moho Ho We have started the chapter, the master's visit to Keshav Chandra Sen. In my last class, I have been talking about this Keshav Chandra Sen and Brahma Samaj. And why have I been talking about him so much? Because Keshav Chandra Sen had played a very crucial role in the Divine Mother's mission. Whatever happened in the life of Sri Ramakrishna, in fact, I would say, whatever happens in any one of our lives is never an accident, something which should not happen. And so it happened, where we are born, where we grow up, which type of society, which class of family, and if we are married, what type of partners, what type of children, what type of jobs, everything is scripted. And Brihadaranyaka Upanishad, in the fourth chapter, this is there that a Jeeva who creates the universe, normal understanding is God creates the universe. But Brihadaranyaka Upanishad, first for the ignorant people, says who creates the universe, God creates, Brahma creates. Brahma in the form of creator, God, Brahman in the form of Brahma. But same Upanishad, immediately after that says, it is the Jeeva, every one of us, we create a unique world of our own, where we have scripted, this is where I will be born, this is how I grow, this is how I will have headache, stomachache, any type of ache, and this is the people I am going to meet, these are the people I am going to love, get attached to, hate, and then start distancing myself from them, this much of happiness, this much of unhappiness. And all this Siddhanta has been beautifully expressed by Patanjali Rishi, Jati, Aayu, Bhoga, in which species we are born, how long this body remains, and what experiences we have, happiness, unhappiness, good or evil, all this has been the result of our own Prarabdha Karma. Hard to believe, because we don't see our Prarabdha Karma, we don't remember what happened in the past life. But if somebody happens to forget what the person did, like many people, they suffer from a peculiar disease, and during sleep, they wake up, that is a very peculiar mental disease, they go out for a walk, they go to restaurants, everything like a completely vacant person they do, and they can even commit murders, and they can even marry another person, in that state completely forgetting, as if he completely wiped off all the memories. So many things happen, but squarely we are responsible. But in the case of the Avataras, everybody is born. This is what the Puranas want to instill, drill into our minds. Lakshmana was a divine helper, Bharata, Shatrughna were divine helpers, Sugriva was a divine helper, Hanumantha was a divine helper, so everything, Sita, Rama, Lakshmana, Bharata, Shatrughna, Hanuman, everybody, even what about Kausalya, what about Sumitra, what about Urmila, all of them, everybody, it is all scripted earlier, that's what happened to Ramakrishna. Until now we have seen, Ramakrishna was born in a Kamarpakur village, he grew up in a very peculiar way, very so-called abnormal way, refused to attend the school, what am I going to do with this money earning education. I want that education by knowing which, Sarvam Viditam Bhavati, everything becomes known to me. I want that spiritual knowledge. Then by the divine will, he was brought to Calcutta. Then by divine will, Rani Rashmani was also made to be born, and that's why she was called Ashtasakhi, or the divine mother, and she got married, and she accumulated a lot of money, all for the sake of all of us. Why? Lakshmana said the temple had to be built, and Ramakumar had to come, along with Ramakumar, Ramakrishna had to come, and as soon as Ramakumar's role was over, he was taken away, then Ramakrishna became the main actor, he became the priest, mukhya pujari, and he was possessed by a terrible storm of spiritual longing, and for 12 long years, he could not even close his eyes, as it is said, and he completed, and thousands of people following the orthodox ways, many ways, had come to him, all attracted, unbeknown to him, unbeknown to themselves, they got the help, they disappeared. As I mentioned in the earlier class, now a new phase has to develop, an avatar is not born merely for a particular region, a particular country, an avatar has to be a Jagadguru, and for that purpose, he has to come into contact with something new, every time an avatar comes, he has to discover new ways, he has to first of all propagate the dharma, dharma chakra pravartana, dharma sthapana, dharma samsthapana arthaya sambhavami yuge yuge, this is a very familiar thing, yada yada hi dharmasya gla nirbhau te bharata, abhyathanam adharmasya tadatmanam srajamyaham, it is all scripted very well and all those people who have to play a minor or major role, they all have to be gathered there and they will come at the right time and they will be doing their particular role, which is helping the avatar spread the dharma, establish dharma. So it is said, just for our reminder, what happens when an incarnation, when God incarnates, four things happen. When God incarnates, four things inevitably happen. The first thing, that his very name becomes a mantra. The second thing, his very form becomes an object of meditation. He becomes one of the devatas, chosen deities, capable of being worshipped, being contemplated and bestowing his grace. That is how Rama became an Ishta Devata, Krishna became Ishta Devata, Jesus became Ishta Devata, Buddha became Ishta Devata, every single avatar that we know had become an Ishta Devata. What is the third thing? The life of Sri Ramakrishna becomes an inspiration for many, many people. Not everybody, but for many people. And his teachings become a guiding light. How to, inspired by his life, how to practice spiritual disciplines and move forward in spiritual life and reach the goal. And that is the third thing. What is the fourth thing? Inevitably, he will lay a foundation, either during his lifetime or through his disciples. An organization springs of these three, the Nama, the Rupa and the life and teachings. It becomes a scripture, Nama, Rupa, Shastra. They are permanent. But the Sangha, it is born, it grows up, it becomes old, it becomes diseased, like any other body. If a baby is born, baby will grow, becomes a youth and at any time can become sick and will die inevitably. And that is the fate. Fate means there is nothing special. This is the rule. Whatever is born, that is going to grow, that is going to become old, that is going to die. We have to meditate upon these truths. So, it was Divine Mother's will that Sri Ramakrishna had to meet Keshav Chandra Sen, he must come into contact and Parasparambhavayantaha. Sri Ramakrishna was also helped. And the people who came into contact also helped. What is the example? There are many examples, but I will give you one important. Narendranath came into contact with Sri Ramakrishna. Narendranath became inspired by Sri Ramakrishna, practiced his spiritual disciplines and he obtained much knowledge and realization. But Ramakrishna also needed the help of Narendranath. For what? As his chief vehicle for spreading his dharma-sthapana in the world. But he was not the only one. It is said in the great master Leela Prasanga, which is a most marvelous scripture, what we call like Kalikala Bhagavatam. Sri Ramakrishna Bhagavatam is the great master. And like Bhagavad Gita, the Gospel is the essence of the Bhagavad Gita. I had spoken about it very elaborately in these very talks. So everybody who comes is helped much more than what help they give. Everyone of them had a role to play, sometimes silent role, but nevertheless a role. Keshav Chandra Sen also had to do it. Now that is why we are discussing so many things. So there is a kind of opinion in so many of us that an avatar only helps but never receives help. Avatar's role is only to give but not to receive. That is not correct. Whoever is born in this world, this is a life of give and take. And life cannot go on without giving and taking. So Sri Ramakrishna, especially, he had to step into a very new scene in his life. All the old type of sadhanas like Vaishnava sadhana, Tantric sadhana, Vedantic sadhana, Dvaita sadhana, Vishishta Dvaita sadhana, Advaita sadhana, all of them were over. And there were people who were following, they received their adequate help and they went on their own way, imbuing the idea, the liberality, that is, as many faiths, so many paths, anybody, whether they believe in God or not, if they are sincere and longing to progress in life, whether they profess faith in God or not, they are going to advance. Sincerity is the only test. That's why even a non-believer, an asthika, has nothing to worry, nothing to fear, provided he becomes skeptical, he becomes what is called a joker in life, doesn't have sincerity. Those people will not progress. But those who are ready, when the field is ready, the seed is about to come. And Sri Ramakrishna was shown by the Divine Mother. It was the Divine Mother's will. As Sri Ramakrishna saw a vision, which he described later, I had seen Keshav before I actually met him. I had seen him and his party in my samadhi. In front of me sat a room full of men. Keshav looked like a peacock, sitting with his tail spread out. The tail meant his followers. I saw a red gem on Keshav's head. That indicated his rajas. Remember, this is the vision of Sri Ramakrishna. Keshav said to his disciples, please listen to what he, meaning Sri Ramakrishna, is saying. Funny thing now comes. Even in samadhi also funny thing can happen. I said to the Divine Mother, Mother, but these people hold the views of Englishmen. Why should I talk to them? Until then Sri Ramakrishna thought only he will be interacting with those who are absolutely 100% sincere and who are the sincere people who ever accept his mother and his words without questioning. They are, according to Sri Ramakrishna's view, the deserving people. But these are Englishmen. Englishmen means not white people. That is, those who are imbued with many wrong ideas about religion, peculiar, distorted ideas about religion, which we will be seeing soon. Why should I talk to them? That means, why should I waste my time? Then the Mother explained to me that my son, it will be like this in the Kali Yuga. As I mentioned last time, this is the stuff that will come in Kali Yuga. And if that is Narendra Nath and Rakaal Tarak, that was the stuff. What about us, people like us? Well, you see, we have got hope. Why? Because Mother explained that people like us will be coming in plenty and we will come to Sri Ramakrishna, we will be listening to his talks and we will be enriching our understanding and that is how we are progressing. Here also I can make a little bit of fun. After all, if I am this kind of stuff, what about my mother? Only my mother also must be deserving because she also belongs to that kind of stuff only. Because only X stuff can produce X type of children. So we should not feel regret, guilty or we should not feel that God is different from us. In Kali Yuga, God will be like that only. In fact, I make a little bit fun, you know. And Sri Ramakrishna used to make lot of fun. So if we don't make fun, what is the use of taking this Gospel class? You see, God is no better than any ordinary human householder. So this Lakshmi and Narayana had a quarrel and Lakshmi got offended and then she left. I will go to my mother's house. That is the excuse. And then she came down to earth and husband cannot stay. One of the main reasons is who is going to cook for you? Are you going to cook yourself? That is not acceptable at all. So he came running. And he had to get married. He found out his former wife, divorced wife as we say in modern times, he wanted to remarry. You know, in Tirupati, God will be remarrying any number of times. So if you pay some money, how can he remarry unless he divorces? People don't have the brains to think all these marvellous secrets. So he found out and then she also of course could not stay without her husband. Who? Lakshmi Devi. And they had to get married. She was born as the princess. He was born as a beggar as usual because Lakshmi is princess and Vishnu without Lakshmi is a beggar because no wealth and wealthless. He had to marry. But the condition was that he must bear. That's why what did he do? Like all of us. That's why credit card is nothing new. This was what was invented by the Divine Lord thousands of years back. So he went to Kubera. Kubera means the lord of the wealth and he borrowed money at what interest rate? God knows, thousand percent compound interest rate and then he got married. Then he understood what is the problem with marriage and then now even now he is unable to pay even the interest. What am I talking about? I am talking about Lord Venkateshwaraya to Tirupati. And that is why in Telugu language he is called Vaddi Kaasula Vadu. So he requires lot of devotees to visit him. He said I have no problem. Black, white, brown anything is acceptable here. I will launder the whole thing into pure white and there is a big Hundi. You can put anything you want whether it is borrowed, your own, earned, borrowed, stolen anything you can put there and that is what Tirupati is doing there. So what am I talking about? So if this is the God and he is our father and what do you think will be like that? He will be also like that only. Anyway, this is just a bit of fun. So Keshav Chandra Sen and Brahmo Samaj had to play a great crucial role in the mission of the Divine Mother. What was the mission? I will discuss these things point by point. Why? Because we can never understand Sri Ramakrishna without understanding his life and we cannot understand his life unless we understand the people with whom he came into contact. And Keshav Chandra Sen played a very crucial role as I have been saying just now and what was the role? For the first time the world has started changing. As I explained many times we are now in super nomadic state. So far as history goes the whole history can be divided into five categories. Nomadic civilization, agricultural civilization, industrial civilization, nuclear civilization, post nomadic civilization. And we are in that fifth. Post nomadic means what? So morning a person will be in Bangalore, afternoon in Mumbai, evening he will be in Delhi, night he will be in Calcutta and next morning or same night he can be landing because of the developments into these telecommunication and transportation. Tremendous developments are taking place. All your mobile or telephone and all these TV and all these things are expediting what we call the communication. Anybody can communicate with anybody else provided of course some requirements are fulfilled. So what is the point? Everybody is influenced. What happens today in India influences what is happening to people in USA or China and vice versa. But all are children of the Divine Mother. All require guidance and it is an inevitable fact. And it happens in every Yuga. That is why Indian Rishis had divided history not into these five civilizations. More or less they retained that classification Kali Yuga, Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Vapara Yuga and Kali Yuga. Again Satya Yuga. So it goes on moving round and round in a circular fashion which is the greatest discovery of the Rishis called Ritam. Now having come into contact with orthodox sadhakas of all the schools for different paths following he helped them. He will be helping them because there will be some people but now the ethos had changed and we living in this modern world also require. And that is where Keshav Chandra Sen steps in and he had already become he has been doing as I mentioned that Brahmo Samaj is not much of a spiritual organization but in the name of God they wanted to bring about a reform in Hindu religion, Hindu society. It is true. We will be ashamed to admit lot of superstitions lot of evils had crept into our religion. Anybody says Hinduism has been pure from the beginning to the end he would be not only a liar he would be the most enormous person in the whole world. Swami Vivekananda had pointed out all of them being a prophet of this particular age but Keshav Chandra Sen had played a wonderful role but he came into that organization which was started by Raja Ram Mohan Roy. Brahmo Samaj means a society of Brahman, God and it is an eclectical organization meaning it is not confined to Hinduism. Some acceptable things from Hinduism some from Christianity mostly from Christianity etc. Raja Ram Mohan Roy he had taken much from the Hinduism but subsequent people even Maharshi Devendranath Tagore had taken a lot of things but Keshav Chandra Sen had topped everybody 99% of his so called clean teachings of the Brahmo Samaj are nothing but taken gleaned from Christianity was profoundly influenced and it is not a bad idea but something sinister also had taken place that he had completely misunderstood Hinduism and Shri Ram Krishna's task is to re-educate his Brahmo leaders and similar people Brahmo Samaj is the most influential Samaj at the time of this incarnation there was Arya Samaj Theosophical Society Prarthana Samaj and so many mushroom organizations had blossomed there at that time Shri Ram Krishna himself remarked all this because of this pointing to himself but important point is they were all inadequate but they did contribute their level best that is a most important point we should never condemn them for example Theosophical Society had done a great service to Hindu society when Hindus totally forgot their own religion and like what is called copycats they are trying to think anything that an Englishman had done is the best thing in this world Theosophical Society especially through Colonel Olcott and Annie Besant they published hundreds of most marvelous books beginning with Bhagavad Gita very rare books which Hindus never used to get and they have advocated a kind of superstitious mysticism there were great Mahatmas they do not live in Chennai or Tibet because the heat of the Chennai is too much for this that mist will melt away if they happen to stay in Chennai so many superstitions they developed but they played a great role they helped Hindu society they did a lot of modern reforms few of them I have already mentioned and one of the most important thing is stopping innocent wives from burning themselves in the funeral pyre and opening the pathways for the women also to come up, for the low caste people also to come up in the form of education even I would say the British government about which we have so many negative ideas why did they come? because they also had to play a role what role they played? they introduced the modern world they introduced by first of all even though I mentioned earlier but it is very important to understand this particular topic we are talking about when the British people came not as what is called sworn enemies of Hindus but it was the Divine Mother's will just like Tibet was taken over by the Chinese government especially Dalai Lama is going on crying these Chinese people are evil people my friend, open your eyes nothing can happen without the Divine will why did the Chinese come? what were your ancestors doing? horrible stories about the earlier Dalai Lamas they were rolling in money, in luxury and they were treading on the necks of people how does Swami Dayatmananda know about it? because of the experiences of Swami Akhandanandaji Maharaj in Tibet, he had graphically explained even though very briefly and they have forgotten but this is what is called becoming powerful and selfish they were squeezing the very life blood of Tibetan people and the Divine Mother took pity upon these people and she brought Chinese and Chinese people have started educating them, integrating into the modern era this modern era is the will of the Divine Mother and there will be English language to unite the whole world if there is one language in this whole world which can unite the whole world that is only English language not Hindi not any other language so this is Divine Mother's will, so it is the Divine Mother's will that brought the British people, in fact I would say that brought the Muslims also, what they did I am not justifying what I am saying is there is a great change had taken place, had not the Islam come, stepped into and given succor to all these neglected people by upper caste Hindus all in the name of Dharmashastras and their stupid, useless, impractical philosophy our India would have been sunk deeper and deeper into the dark dungeons but these people came they played a role what did they do, I am not going I am not talking about history but I wanted to find out how it is relevant for us to understand many of these Muslim emperors like Akbar Aurangzeb, etc they did a great damage no doubt about it, but at the same time they also did something equally good albeit unmeant and unknown even to them they united a desperate, small kingdoms selfish, quarrelling oppressing Hindu kingdoms nobody looks into it nobody studies history with an impartial eye and then says why is it what was the condition of the people before the Muslims came, Turks came Mughals came and before the English people came everything falls into a meaningful domino, only when we study the history from the view point of the divine, that is why many times in semi-fun I tell Hindus have no knowledge of history, they only accept one thing what do they accept? His story, history is his story divine will expressing in the form of the many Yugas, British people came and they have done albeit unmeaning and unintentionally three things, what is the first thing they united the whole of desperate, small selfish, petty kingdoms into this mighty political India that we know today, that is the greatest contribution, we have to bow down our heads and accept it, what is the second thing they united the culture of India, though it was there, by introducing railways, by connecting every single place with other places where people can travel easily today we are able to move from one state to another state, one village to another village etc, it is the foundation was laid by the British people, but the greatest contribution of the British people was English education and what did it do it opened the orthodox doors, previously we were what Swami Vivekananda used to say koopastha mandukas, frogs in the well, we never went out, we never allowed anybody to enter in, it is like a room, all the doors windows, everything is tightly closed, air becomes stale, becomes poisonous and that is what had happened and with the advent of the British people they have broken open the doors, so that they can come in, but so that we can also go out our people went and their eyes popped open they saw how much striving, how much forward other nations were marching ahead, Swami Vivekananda writes when he went to Japan you frogs in the well come out of your narrow self binding bondage see how nations are on march and you are still only coating some of the what is called impractical things from your ancestors not doing anything, doing poisoning the whole atmosphere that was Swami Vivekananda's inspiration so uniting the all the places all the petty kingdoms and making it into one mighty empire and trying to connect every place because communication is possible only when there is a facility of transportation the third thing this British government opened the mind of the people to modernism what is called the Kalikala the same beautiful teachings of the Veda should be there but they must be made practical that's what Swami Vivekananda called practical Vedanta that's what he had done, so this was the scenario Keshav Chandra Sen, Raja Ram Mohan Ray, they were western educated, these people are the people who were called English people and Sri Ram Krishna belonging is part of the mind belong to the old school that is unquestioning faith in what Guru says scripture says but he also understood by the will of the Divine Mother that now people will not accept they want to question, they want to understand and then only they are ready to accept, there are many sincere people but the whole cultural ethos had changed that's why Will Durant, one of the greatest American historians in the 20th century he had named different ages the age of superstition the age of faith the age of reason and we are now whether we will it or not, accept it or not understand it or not or in the age of reason so preaching our ancient truths in the form of I am trying to preach them you just without question accept them, that's not going to happen now, it has to be preached not in obscure language by quoting earlier what is called statements from the Upanishads etc but explain to them how these things are meaningful, very rational can help our life and can be made very practical but the caveat is however much we may understand, unless we put them into practice, it is not going to help us at all this is the greatest contribution that is where this Brahma Samaj also had helped to some extent its what is called abode purpose is to rid of the all the evils that have been smothering the purest Hindu philosophy Hindu knowledge and social evils also as a result should be removed now this is an age when people of different faiths come together and without understanding each other, we cannot accept each other, without accepting each other, we cannot live in harmony with each other and we are all seeking world harmony world peace, that is not going to be possible unless we understand our different people's religion, culture at least to some extent the language what is called the ethos of the Yuga spirit of the Yuga and that is what is the purpose of this Keshav Chandra Sen he was modern educated he was absolutely sincere to the bone sincerity doesn't mean person's understanding is perfect but sincerity will lead to definitely to progress the Divine Lord will disabuse of all misunderstandings purifies it and throws further light and that is what is about to happen and this Brahma Sama had done many things, first thing is the early marriage which ruined millions of women's lives by making them child widows and the Dharmashastras had brought in a rule, once a woman is married, once she becomes a widow, she cannot be remarried so Rajaram Mohan Roy took up the Kajal and fought so the first thing is he wanted to stop the young girls who are hardly grown up who know even how to stand on their own feet, becoming widows, forcibly thrown into the burning flames, all because if there is property, it can be shared by these selfish vultures which are hovering in the form of the relatives of this particular family, so that was the first thing, then how to enlighten them open their hearts, schools for everybody women first, give them education, let them learn how to think how to take decisions for themselves and Swami Vivekananda I have to say, have followed in these respects the Brahma Samaj the Prathana Samaj the Arya Samaj and the Theosophical Society etc etc a lot of good has been done, this is what we call Ram Krishna used to tell by an illustration once a king was requested by one of his old poor faithful servants I would be blessed if you can visit my home and I accept my hospitality and the king, he knew the value of this old servant his devotion and his labour so he accepted, but what did he do, he sent his own servants to clean the village and to redecorate the poor man's house and to send all the provisions his own cooks to go and then cook everything but all that the king did was, he went there and partook of his own food prepared by from his own provisions, cooked by his own servants and he appreciated, oh you have entertained me very much it is all because of love so the whenever any politician goes for votes, the village electric connections will be connected roads will be repaired temporarily mind you, in India they don't ever do it permanently, why you know because Indian philosophy is nothing is permanent in this world and therefore any road whether it is roads machinery, anything must be made only temporary and it looks very glittering, very attractive very comfortable how long, until the elections are over after that, where are you foot rug, where you have kept me before election 5 years back, I am still there so this is how the Brahma Samaj, Prarthana Samaj Arya Samaj, Theosophical Society many many other societies have come up they had a role to play that is my main thrust before, whenever incarnation comes, he will bring all these formations and it is his birth and Shri Ram Krishna himself told us, all these Hari Sabhas etc that has sprung up suddenly all over the Calcutta at every street corner, all because of this, so we can extend that meaning and say, all the Samajas like Brahma Samaj is all because what is called forerunners, like the servants of the king, before his visit to clean everything so Divine Mother wanted that the people will be like this they will be English educated, they will not accept anything without questioning but there will be some people who will be extraordinarily sincere and explained properly, they will be able to accept it, so Shri Ram Krishna had set up what is called Ideology and ideals suitable for whomsoever wants to progress in life and for that purpose he has to come into contact with the modern people and what better than Brahma Samaj, this is the background so what is my important summary of what I have discussed so far, Keshav Chandra Sen also the Brahma Samaj through Keshav Chandra Sen he had to come into contact with Shri Ram Krishna, he played a crucial role in the very mission of the Divine Mother, that's why Divine Mother wanted this is what is going to happen you have to meet, Shri Ram Krishna was sceptical, but these are English educated people, what should Mother have explained, I think she explained that most of the people will be like that, in fact all of us but among them there will be quality people, sincere people open to truth provided it is explained to them in a rational manner and it will be like this in the Kali Yuga so this is the background and Shri Ram Krishna had to come into contact, in fact whenever Shri Ram Krishna had to come into contact with anybody whether it is Narendranath whether it is M he used to have visions of the devotees who are destined to play a definite role that is how he saw M, he saw Balram Basu, he saw the direct disciples, a simple example I am giving, Swami Brahmanandaji, Rakhal Maharaj Rakhal was considered to be the eternal companion of Shri Krishna he was the friend of Krishna when God incarnated as Shri Krishna and same Krishna Ram Krishna said the same one who was incarnated as Ram and Krishna had incarnated in this universe so as Rama also as Krishna also, as Buddha also, as Jesus also we have to accept all of them so who are the Jesus, signs of Jesus Swami Sharada Ananda and Swami Ram Krishna Ananda what about Rama Anjaneya, who was the Anjaneya Anjaneya came in the form of Swami Vekananda and also Swami Adbhutananda, what about Shri Krishna, Arjuna came in the form of Swami Yogananda and Swami Primananda he was the incarnation of the Divine Mother Radha these are divine mysteries we cannot understand them we have to simply close our eyes, listen them and then we have to accept them on faith only and look at their lives, what had happened so what about other devotees like Madhurnath, Shambhu Chandramalli and etc yes, Malla Rambasu etc yes, the Divine Mother had already arranged for taking care of this avatar in the form of four and half suppliers so everything falls into a perfect perfectly arranged jigsaw puzzle if we understand Ramakrishna's life so Ramakrishna accepted the Divine Mother's words, means what in our question, if Mother says that is accepted, without question, yes people will be like that I will not judge them but I have to come into contact with them and that is at that time Keshav Chandrasen was the one person whose Brahma Samaj is attracting hundreds and hundreds of well educated, highly educated modern educated, English educated youth and Sairam Krishna now had to all that he need to go is like you go to a what is called a huge mall and then whatever you want A to Z will be available there so this is also I call it a little bit of cheating Sairam Krishna wanted to avoid this trouble of seeking and finding out, so he created Keshav Chandrasen, now you become a big mall, gather all those fellows and train them and I will come to them and I will pick my choose and then I will take them away from you, poor Keshav Chandrasen did not understand this, so many events have happened later on, we will discuss about it later on, so Sairam Krishna had accepted and then now he has become very very eager to meet this leader of the Brahma Samaj, Keshav Chandrasen and it is said that Keshav Chandrasen also as soon as he saw Sairam Krishna he appreciated the merits and then he was attracted, he was transformed, he was helped in his own life, so how did it happen, because the Divine Mother meant Sairam Krishna would meet Keshav, Keshav would be what is called mesmerized by the teachings of Sairam Krishna and his not only his life will change but many of the things that he was preaching earlier it will undergo a drastic transformation which we are going to discuss briefly but in today's talk I will just do only a few of them because the subject is very vast so some of you may be thinking what about the gospel of Sairam Krishna, this is the gospel of Sairam Krishna, why are we studying, because not because we just want to hear the teachings of Sairam Krishna, we want to enjoy Sairam Krishna we want the Leela of Sairam Krishna just as the Krishna Bhaktas they enjoy the Leela of all the Krishna Bhaktas and I have to share with you a marvelous gem of a truth, that is some great soul had passed a remark if you want to study the great scriptures like the Upanishads, sometimes you may be able to understand them by just studying yourself without the aid of anybody else but it is extremely hard to understand the Puranic stories depicting the Leelas of Rama, Krishna, Buddha Jesus, etc. because every story that we get in the Purana is nothing but a gem, a parable that is hiding tremendous meaning and it is nothing but pure explanation of the purest truth that has been preached by Vedanta, so for that we need a person who understands the Puranas and what is Sairam Krishna's life Ram Krishna's Gospel it is a combination of Sairam Krishna's life and Sairam Krishna's teachings and the incidents that happened in the life of Sairam Krishna and if we don't understand it we cannot develop genuine understanding and genuine love for Sairam Krishna so here is the summary that I have taken from the great master itself and I am summarizing them so that I will what we call like a mother any animal, any mother human mother predigests food for the baby what is that food? it is called milk, whether it is an animal or it is anything, even every mother every mother for the sake of the baby until the baby develops its own capacity to digest, first the mother prepares the food whether it is 90% digested or 50% digested or 25% digested human or non-human that is the same process unless we understand Leela Prasanga that is why the very title Leela, Leela means the divine sports of every incarnation and we have to meditate upon them the more we understand the life of Sairam Krishna the better will be our understanding of his teachings this is a marvelous thing but as I said this will continue in the next class also but I can promise you that next class we will again revert back to the gospel but anyway I enjoy it, that is why I am taking this class, I hope you are also enjoying it and if you don't enjoy that is your headache, your prarabdha, I cannot help you so what is the first thing that Sairam Krishna learned that his contact is coming into contact both with Brahma Samaj as well as Keshav Chandra Sen has a tremendous significance, there is a tremendous role that both of them have to learn, mostly the members of the Brahma Samaj would learn but Sairam Krishna also had to learn, this is the modern yuga, kali kala in modern yuga dharma stapana has to be done only through an organization that's why I mentioned the fourth thing that happens when God incarnates is an organization this is the first thing and whatever Divine Mother tells Sairam Krishna accepts wholeheartedly without any reservations so the next second point, the loving relation of the master with the Brahmos so Sairam Krishna he used to look forward eagerly both ways he used to go to their Samaj and they also used to visit him especially because of the inspiration of Keshav Chandra Sen once Keshav Chandra Sen had known Sairam Krishna and by Divine Mother's grace understood Sairam Krishna and then he became terribly attached to Sairam Krishna, he even worshipped Sairam Krishna as his own Ishta Devata but secretly of which I have mentioned earlier but later also I will mention there developed a very loving relationship between Sairam Krishna and Brahmos then this is an important point if we want, whether we are at home whether we go to the Ramakrishna ashrama, whether we meet with other devotees this is the crucial bond a loving relationship without that any Samaja, any Sangha any organization will not be effective and then when Sairam Krishna used to go so great was his joy in the singing and conversation on God with them that he did not mind going and even uninvited very often to Keshav's house and also other Brahmo Samajas for that purpose and third, the reason why Brahmos regarded Sairam Krishna as a follower of their faith. After mixing with Sairam Krishna, so many people followers of Brahmo Samaj had this, what is called partial understanding what is called one-sided understanding that Sairam Krishna was one of the greatest Brahmos. They misunderstood they did not understand that whomsoever Sairam Krishna mixed with whether they are Brahmos theosophical people or Muslims or Sikhs or Vaishnavas or Shaktas or Dwaitins Bhaktas or anybody, he used to become one with them because the path of Advaita doesn't exclude with anybody which Gaudapad Acharya has categorically so beautifully explained Advaita has no issue with anybody because Advaita includes everything, it doesn't exclude anything that was Sairam Krishna's statement and it is a beautiful thoughts I cannot stop myself explaining these things I will continue in my next class. May Ram Krishna, Holy Mother and Swami Vivekananda bless us all with Bhakti and right understanding Jai Ram Krishna
