OM VASUDEVASUDAM DEVAM KAMSACHANURAMARDANAM DEVAKI PARAMANANDAM KRISHNAM VANDE JAGADGURUM SARVOPANISHADOKAGO DOGDA GOPALANANDANAH PARTHO VACHA SUDHIR BHOKTA DUGDAM GHEETAM RITAM MAHAT MOOKAM KARUTI VACHALAM PANGUM LANGAYATE GIRIM YAD KRIPATAMAHAM VANDE PARAMANANDA MADHAVAM We are studying this most wonderful, practical and very interesting chapter 14th Gunatraya Vibhaga Yoga in our last class. One of the most important questions. What happens to the people when a particular Guna either Sattva or Rajas or Tamas is mostly dominant? Remember, no man can have only one Guna. All Guna's three will be there because it is really one manifesting as three. But the dominant aspect will be different. When a person is filled with Sattva Guna, then what happens to that person? We have discussed this one. He will go to Urdhva Loka. Now Urdhva Loka means higher worlds and I have mentioned 14 higher worlds. I have given several instances from the life of Sri Ramakrishna how the higher worlds are really existing. I am going to mention one more. But at the same time we have no way of knowing whether there is life after death or higher world or lower world and what type of life we will be having. This is all dependent upon totally from Shabda Pramana. Only from the scripture and we must trust the words of great sages and saints. So I have given several examples. Next point we need to keep. That's why I am re-emphasizing it. I narrated the story of Dushyanta. He was made the king of Indra Loka but he was not able to overcome his lust. Probably other things were also there but suppressed for the time being. So he had fallen down from that state even after attaining to that state. That's why Bhagavan Krishna categorically stated Kshine Punye Martyalokam Vishanti When a person attained to that higher state he cannot remain there. At the exhaustion of his Punya, credit card he has to come down to earn more, top it up if necessary, if he wants to go. But why do people come down? Why can't they stay there? This is one of the side questions. The answer is very simple. They cannot come down. They have to come down because the goal of life, the evolutionary escalator will not allow us to remain however high the position including Brahma Loka. The highest realistic happiness we have to come down after experiencing something but meanwhile our heart will be purified means it will be endowed with beautiful divine thoughts and endowed with faith and strong will and strength to control body and mind and that is what is represented by Brahma Loka. I would like to tell here there are some yogis who have no worldly desires excepting a small desire but they have done inhuman or superhuman austerity then they attain to Brahma Loka. In some scriptures maintain that by experiencing that highest happiness what little desire they have will be completely destroyed. Thereafter they only want one thing I want to know myself, I want to be myself. Such people they do not return. That state is called Krama Mukti or gradual liberation. We have to have faith in the scriptures that is where the information comes from. Now as I said I am going to mention many devotees of Sri Ramakrishna must be knowing and if they have not known it they are not really devotees of Sri Ramakrishna at all. I have to tell you that. What is it? One day Sri Ramakrishna wanted to know about Narendranath. His mind ascended through the path of Samadhi from one lower world to another higher world. At last it reached the world of indivisibility Akhanda Rajya. There he saw seven individuals deeply merged in austerity. A very interesting experience because these people were completely free or free then why do they choose to retain their holy causal bodies because in our scriptures also it is said such people they are the people who are kept by God for correcting us, ruling us, bringing us back to God and incarnations come from that realm. This is the information that we get. Now I would like to talk about one important Upanishad. So Urdhvaloka, higher world means higher happiness. There are seven we said but there are many other Lokas are there. Scriptures as I said and scriptures are called Shabda Pramana. They are the authority for us to prove the existence of higher worlds and another thing is even in this world there is so much of variation right from the very bottom people born in slum areas in disrupted families, dysfunctional families until the highest richest people in the whole world. So it is reasonable to assume that there is not one higher world but many higher worlds will be there. So here from Taittiriya second chapter called Brahmananda Valli there is a beautiful discussion if there is a young man and he has everything in this world his mind is under control, he is a high-souled man, he is pure, his body is perfectly healthy and whatever he desires that will be obtained by him. Such a person's happiness he owns the entire world such a person is called one unit of human happiness and then there are higher worlds. So I will narrate it later on. There it is said hundred times more for this that means hundred units of human happiness but hundred doesn't mean exactly mathematically hundred it could be a million times more. Let me first recite this one. Shrotriyasya Jaaka Mahatasya Teye Sitam Manushyagandharvanam Anandaha Sayekho Devagandharvanam Anandaha Sayekha Pitrunam Chiralokalokanam Anandaha Sayekha Ajanajanam Devanam Anandaha Sayekha Karmadevanam Devanam Anandaha Sayekho Devanam Anandaha Sayekha Indrasyanandaha Sayekho Brihaspate Ranandaha Sayekha Prajapate Ranandaha Teye Sitam Prajapate Ranandaha Sayekho Brahmananandaha Shrotriyasya Jaaka Mahatasya At least ten enumerations of these are there. First is a human being and higher than that is Manushyagandharvanam then Devagandharvanam then Pitrus then Chiralokalokanam Ajanajanam Karmadevanam then Devanam then Indrasyanandaha then Brihaspate Ranandaha Prajapate Ranandaha Brahmananandaha means Brahma Loka Anandaha I don't want to go into the Sanskrit explanation but the highest as many times we have mentioned is that highest Loka happiness is obtained uninterrupted happiness in Brahma Loka. This is one more solid fact that we have to believe in the scriptures. There is no other way. Now we will proceed to the 15th. Before that, let us remember a Sattva Guna Sampanna a person whose thoughts are full of Sattva Guna. He is thinking of divine thoughts thinking of the welfare of others thinking of the good of others. He loves everybody. His mind is always tranquil. Such a person at that state of the mind when his mind is full of Sattva Guna if the body happens to fall off he will attain to higher world. Here Bhagavad Gita itself gives us one small hint. Suppose a Yogi he has not been able to complete his spiritual practice then what happens? He can take birth in this human world itself in two forms. First of all Shuchi Naam Shri Mataam Gehe Yoga Bhrastha Avijayate He will be taking birth in a family which is full of divine people. Mother is spiritual. Father is spiritual. Family is spiritual. Servants are spiritual. Neighbors are spiritual. Everybody is full of spiritual light and their life is dedicated only to God. It is very rare to have this kind of birth. But there are a few people and Shri Ram Krishna quotes the example of Balarama Basu where even the servants they are exuding spiritual peace and joy. Very rare. So what happens? He has not been able to complete and there is only one reason that could be and that is some Samskara or habit, desire is inhibiting him. Such a person being born here fulfills his desire as an offering to God Prasada of God and once that is over then he will progress further. There is no further obstruction and then he will attain liberation. The second scenario is Athava There are some better people in whom they desire. Very very small desire. He may be born in the family of a great spiritual family Yogi's family who are totally dedicated only to spiritual life. Earlier the rich people Shuchi Naam Shri Mata but pure people that means they are able to enjoy everything as a Prasada of God. In this life they may be very poor. The family is poor. The neighbors are poor but everybody in the family is a confirmed Yogi. So with this if we can develop Sattva Guna then even from a utility point of view our happiness will be incalculable and that's what Swami Vivekananda once declared categorically in USA that a child asks if I pray to God will I get some cake so ginger bread. He says that is very low type of thinking. For a child it is absolutely natural but for a grown-up person I will go to higher world I will get many women and I will enjoy everything. This is nothing but pure blasphemy of God because in the presence of God if a person can't get so much of happiness depending upon many other things other than God then it's a very poor idea about spirituality but this can compare to our Hindu's idea concept of Svarga Loka. That's all I can say about it. Now when the mind is endowed with Rajo Guna what happens? This is what is dealt with in the 15th shloka. In this 15th verse the conditions two conditions when the mind is dominated by pure Rajas and or dominated by Tamas if the people happen to die when the mind is thinking of that particular thoughts which are appropriate to that particular Guna what happens to them? If the embodied soul meets with death when Rajas prevails such a soul is born among those who are attached to action and if such a soul meets with death when Tamas prevails is born in the wombs of creatures devoid of reason those who are attached to action that is to say men. So those whose mind is full of activity greediness grabbing everything accumulating everything not giving much to anybody what happens? They will be born on earth. Where are they born? Not in a spiritual family much less in a yogi's family but those who are similar to what samskaras they had. There are families they are also greedy exceedingly greedy they are restless they cannot stay for a single second without twirling their moustache twirling their thumbs or eating a piece of grass or just eating their own fingernails. If that is the case then they will be born in that in that family because that is the most appropriate family. Funny thing is even in this world suppose you go and attend a big meeting and observe yourself where will you be gravitating slowly only towards those people with whom you feel very free. There are people highly intellectuals are very rich class yes they may greet you you may greet them they may say welcome but then you don't feel at ease. So there are some people who are third class making raucous noise listening to unlistenable rock music etc. and you cannot tolerate such things but there are some people and how do you know? Because you feel at ease when you are in their company and they talk and you also talk what's common to both of you. So this is how a soul gravitates towards those families where their own the seeds of future activities can be born fruit. This is what is meant. So Deha Vruta means the soul who is in this body Jeevatma individual soul Rajasi when the mind is full of Rajas Pralayam Gatwa Here Pralaya I mentioned is not that the whole world is flooded with water like Noah's ark's time. No, no. It means individual death the fall of the body. After the body after the fall of the body Karma Sankhya Sujayate will be born in the families of exactly those people who are continuously running after many activities and here we notice also always these activities need not be meaningful. They are like a restless monkey. So they do activities not because they want to do something that tendency of restlessness makes them do some activities. Yes, there are also infinite variations among Satvika people infinite almost infinite variations among the Vajogunis as well as Tamogunis. This is the fate of they will be born on this planet Earth among human beings and continue their efforts to slowly overcome the lower Rajas to higher Rajas from higher Rajas to lower Sattva lower Sattva to higher Sattva and then finally get out. What about those people whose mind is endowed with nothing but pure Tamas, darkness, indolence, laziness, misunderstanding everything. Poor fellows I'm inclined to give you a small example. One day there was a character called Hajra at Dakshineshwar. So one day this Hajra he had tried to argue with Sri Ramakrishna saying all your spiritual experiences are delusions of your brain. Do you think that really there is such a God or Goddess and all those things. Now many times Sri Ramakrishna used to be in the condition of a small child. Whatever anybody says a small child has no discrimination and he doesn't distrust other people. So he believed maybe I have been deceived by my mother God. So he ran to the temple and then it was revealed to him. Mother said why do you listen to him? Whatever you experience is absolutely right. Now the point that comes here is how do we know that we are not getting deluded that we are deluding ourselves by thinking of a particular aspect of God and then imagining intensely imagining I am having their darshana. Suddenly one day it becomes a concrete vision appearing before us. How do we know? Then Divine Mother said if all your visions are delusions how come that some of your visions they prove to be true in day-to-day actual facts? There were many such visions of Sri Ramakrishna when he used to predict tomorrow such and such a person will come. Every direct disciple of Sri Ramakrishna and devotees also had proved to the hilt that Sri Ramakrishna could tell foretell what's going to happen. This is one kind of vision we need not identify it with spiritual vision. That future foretelling which you used to come absolutely true how do they happen if it is delusion? Because delusions will never become concrete experiences excepting the individual who thinks he has a head. In reality nobody will know but if it comes true it is a matter of experience for everybody else. So then Sri Ramakrishna was telling I became very angry this fellow had confused my mind then he thought what can the poor fellow do? After all the divine mother hasn't enlightened his mind. She had not given him the right understanding. This is a most important fact. If some people are behaving like a Rajoguni some people like a Tamoguni we have to understand that it is all divine mother's will. This is a different subject. We are here talking about not about divine will but human effort how we can uplift ourselves by ourselves as we say we can jump out of ourselves. We can lift ourselves by our shoestrings as they say in English language self-effort. There are some people who are full of tamasic thoughts and as I mentioned earlier no one will be left behind. Everybody will be progressing. So what happens? Tamasic when the mind is completely filled with Tamoguna and misunderstands everything misuses everything indolence accidents misunderstanding and procrastinating postponing everything all these things when they are prevalent in the mind if that body happens to fall off then what happens? He will be born in families appropriate to the flowering as we say or fruiting of his own long accumulated sanskaras and what are these moda means? Idiotic that is to say those who have absolutely no understanding like stock and stones as we say in animals among trees among birds and things like that but sometimes I have problem with this because nowadays science is discovering so many animals have far superior intelligence not only that they have far superior wisdom than even human beings of course on the highest wisdom the power of discrimination is not yet possible there but they either in the family of what is called lowest maybe worms maybe ants maybe mosquitoes maybe snakes as we said found out the story of Nausha because Kama belongs to the what is called lower Rajoguna Arthamoguna that's why it is cursed to be like a python a person whose mind is full of tamas he will be born in lower what is called births and then we have to understand that they are the most appropriate things for that in every situation in life we need some instruments if we want to accomplish something so an appropriate instrument for example you need a small spoon for taking small quantities of something you don't take a bucket but a bucket is necessary for quenching fire or doing something much bigger than that so for every action there is an appropriate instrument now these people they have already developed the samskaras and those samskaras have to fructify and they have to experience grief suffering and then they will be that suffering itself will knock on their heads and slowly they will bring back a little bit of wisdom into their minds and in course of time they will also join those who are endowed with Rajoguna lower Rajoguna then higher Rajoguna etc. that is how the evolutionary progress takes place this is how we have to understand now only one note I want to insert here that there are some animals are there and they are cursed every animal need not be in the evolutionary scale trying to come up there are some higher people people who are born in human beings or even gods and goddesses and because of some curse and curses come only when they have misused their power and misbehaved there is a karma phala is inevitable even for Brahma how do you know? because in Brahma Loka Brahma himself was cursed by Shiva and it is a Puranic story don't take it too deeply because Brahma was running after his own daughter of course because Brahma was the creator and he had to create first a woman and she was the only available woman and therefore Shiva cursed how dare how foolish that you are running after your own daughter we are not talking about that so there are some higher families people born in higher conditions situations but misused misapplied as a result they will be born to experience karma phala and again as soon as that is over they will go back to their previous condition they will be given another chance this is what we have to understand now we will move on to the 16th one more or less Bhagavan Krishna had covered how many gunas are there what are their characteristics how do we know a person has which guna and what is the effect of that guna in this life and how it binds and what is the effect of this guna after death these five points we have covered now for the next few shlokas the Lord is simply summarizing what he had already elaborated in the previous shlokas so 16th shloka we proceed karmanah sukratasya hoho sattvikam nirmalam phalam rajasastu phalam dukkham ajnanam tamasaha phalam the fruit of a good action is said to be good and clean the fruit of rajas is pain and the fruit of tamas is ignorance if a person does good deeds now here a question comes if we are already endowed with a particular guna how are we going to do good deeds here comes a beautiful idea all of us have got free will how do we know because if any one of us have done something wrong after some time regret comes into our mind regret comes into our mind what a foolish fellow I was why did I do that this regret comes and why did I not do the other thing that shows if there was to be no freedom then such a question doesn't arise at all for example so in the 18th century there were so many slaves no slave will regret why did I not go to a higher school acquire higher education and get a higher job and I would have lived like many others a much more happy life of course this statement is loaded with poison there are so many people they are the CEOs directors of many very popular and very rich companies but that doesn't prove that these people really they are good people or even enjoying people that doesn't prove at all there are so many people who misbehave out of greed just I think yesterday or today I was reading I don't know exactly a huge amount crores of rupees are deposited in the Swiss banks now how can these people do that unless they have that money where from they are getting that money from each one's country whether it's Africa or UK or India or any country these people they think that after death they are going to become ghosts and enjoy that kind whatever they have not understanding once the body the prana departs the body becomes useless others may enjoy them now what is my point here we have to understand we have freedom of will and that is when Sri Ramakrishna said gave a beautiful reply for that do we have really some small freedom of will Sri Ramakrishna gave a beautiful story a farmer had a cow he tied it to a tree with a length of rope in a field where there was food and if the cow uses that limited freedom nicely then slowly the farmer will lengthen the rope to give it more freedom and if the cow utilizes it properly then he might even release it there is no question of might he will definitely do that this is referring the Divine Mother has tied us to this body and mind that is the tree and she has given put us in a field called Kurukshetra this is field for cultivating through activity Punya or Papa, Dharma or Adharma and if we do not have freedom of will the question of the law of Karma will be dull and wide because a madcap will not be punished even if he kills a tiger is not taken to the court and then judged why it killed so many people and then given punishment or death punishment children will not be done madcaps will not be done accidentally some killing happens they will caution them give them some punishment but a deliberately schemed murder alone deserves that because why the person in other cases the freedom of will was not exercised in this case in the last case a man had deliberately used his freedom to scheme and then to put it into practice this is what is being said here that if we can follow the scriptures even common sense will do Karmanaha Sukrutasya Satvikam Nirmalam Phalam when a person goes on doing good activities and sharing caring helping other people etc. and it is very practical also because when others are in trouble let me help them if I am helpless the others will definitely come this is the law of Karma so the fruit of good actions is said to be good not only good they are clean clean means what? slowly they will purify our heart and then make them move forward in this scale in the ladder spiritual ladder that is but the fruit of rajas means what? the activities full of rajas full of love is inevitably they end in pain in grief in suffering etc. and if the activities are full of tamas then it deepens the darkness if the more ignorance the more the person loses his real concept of what is called happiness and he will be even worse than animals so the fruit of a good action is said to be good and clean the fruit of rajas is pain and the fruit of tamas is ignorance I remember Shri Ramakrishna was taken on a pilgrimage to Kashi by Madhur Babu and then they had to go via a very sacred place called Vaidyanath near Devaghar is one of the most famous Shiva temples and on when the train landed there Shri Ramakrishna saw thousands of lakhs of people lakhs means one hundred thousand is called a lakh in India so lakhs of people they were like skeletons they cannot get even barely one handful of food per day bones are showing Shri Ramakrishna felt so deeply moved he asked Madhur Babu do something about them if there were one or two he would have definitely done seeing hundreds and hundreds of them said Baba I don't have that much of money Shri Ramakrishna simply said in that case you continue your journey I don't want to earn anything by going to these places of pilgrimage I will share their grief with me he went and sat down in a way I have to make a little fun this is called spiritual blackmailing because he knew Madhur Babu cannot go without him Madhur Babu believed his own chosen deity was moving with him in the form of Shri Ramakrishna not only that Madhur Babu also believed that Shri Ramakrishna was protecting him in every possible way if Shri Ramakrishna is not there very soon he will be landing himself in trouble so willy-nilly I am sure not very happily he got hundreds of saris cloths etc. from Calcutta and then one day he gave a so-called very hearty meal and some oil for their heads to put on and to take bath at least Shri Ramakrishna was satisfied now I have something to add here why did not Shri Ramakrishna say why don't you start helping them Shri Ramakrishna many times in the gospel of Shri Ramakrishna he had declared it is not possible for any human being to help the other person not even one person cannot be helped completely the whole wealth of the world is not sufficient to fill the needs of even one single individual not to speak of more than one not only that this the law of karma will be upset if everybody tries to help even if somebody tries to help if the law of karma doesn't cooperate that means if that did not deserve it we won't be able to get it somehow we will be losing it that's very very true anyway Shri Ramakrishna's thesis whatever best you can do you do that with the idea Shiva Jnana Jiva Shiva I am only serving the Divine Lord we have a freedom what is that freedom? that you discriminate and then listen to the wise people listen to the scriptures and do good things good actions and what are the good actions? I'll just give you small quotation Satyam Vadha speak truth Dharmam Chara always behave righteously Swadhyayan Maa Pramadaha do not be negligent about study of the scriptures because it is they who shows what is a human being what is the goal of human life and how to achieve it so never neglect then you revere your mother as God father as God teacher as God thereafterwards slowly expand everybody else Atithi means not only a guest but anybody whom you happen to encounter he is a guest so at least speak nicely if you cannot help him and many of us are in a much better condition not only we can speak sweetly but we can really help many people's service is only verbal they only execute verbally how devoted they are how much japa they have done and how many bucketfuls of tears are coming from their eyes but they are accumulating millions and millions without thinking that if we do not do good karma this same opportunity will not be repeated in future births I would say such people are nothing but pure agnanis that's all I can say anyway let me repeat it Karmana Sukrutasya Aho Satvikam Nirmalam Phalam Rajasastu Phalam Dukham Agnanam Tamasav Phalam the fruit of every good action is said to be good and clean that's what is called Sattva guna a fruit of rajas that which that action whose fruit increases rajas guna is pain restlessness etc. and the fruit of tamo guna that means those actions like indolence carelessness wrong understanding etc. is only deepens the darkness or ignorance now how do we know further we already discussed 17th shloka says Sattvat Sanjayate Jnanam Rajaso Lobha Evacha Pramada Mohau Tamaso Bhavata Agnanam Evacha from the guna called Sattva springs knowledge knowledge means remember any knowledge is not knowledge only that knowledge which is absolutely right which cannot be contradicted and which has not been obtained before so Avijnatham Abadhitam Anadhigatham Abadhitam this is a beautiful definition if you already knew that's not a new knowledge and if this present knowledge is contradicted by some other knowledge definitely it is a false knowledge if there is sattva guna the very nature of sattva guna is it gives us a deep insight and our knowledge will be right knowledge and the effect of right knowledge is right desire and the effect of right desire is right action and the effect of right action is right result which is called happiness purity of mind concentration of the mind wonderful memory and love for God for the world increase at the same time but if an action that is full of rajas restlessness greediness grabbiness accumulation etc. then if that is the one what happens lobha rajasaha lobha lobha means greed will increase and other things also earlier we have discussed those things what is it restlessness and terrible propensity to start run after many activities without completing one he does something and leaves it there starts another one leaves it there starts another one etc. that steady steadfastness is lacking in this raja guna and then when there is activities which increase promote the mohuna pramada and moha pramada means negligence pramada means accidents will happen we do things wrongly and then it leads to accidents etc. moha we misunderstand everything and then it increases our ajnana ajnana means instead of thinking I am divine I am a human being I am the body and mind not only that this is the only life there is no future life all these understandings come from these particular gunas which we have to elaborately discussed in our future this thing and again he is talking about in the 18th those who are established in sattva go upward just now today itself we discussed they go to higher worlds either higher worlds or higher status in this very world those who are moved by rajas remain in the middle if raja guna people die then they remain in the middle middle means what this planet earth which is inhabited by human beings is called the middle so they will be born among men and the nature of these men is raja guna and raja guna means they are more greed they want to accumulate and their insatiable desires will be there and many times they will be cruel also just to get their desires fulfilled whatever comes on the way and that is considered with great anger and if they have power and too much of wickedness they will even destroy the people families together we hear these stories everyday in the newspapers and those who are steeped in tamas being weighted down by the tendencies of the lowest guna go downward as we discussed today itself a few minutes earlier those whose mind is full of tamo guna and their thoughts will be appropriate for that tamo guna then they will go down because if they want to sleep it's wonderful to be to sleep like an animal so it is said in architect areas there are some worms or even frogs for just they will be alive only for a few days and they breed and then hibernation and then they will not come to life in hibernation what do they do? it's a kind of clay like existence stone like existence so if that is what people want that is not knowing anything good or bad is the highest state of enjoyment such people naturally they deserve it they worked for it and they get the result of their work and they go downward this is what is being said in this 18th verse sattva sthaha those who are full of sattva they are steadfastly seated in sattva endowed with sattva udham gacchanti they tend to higher degrees of consciousness higher states of happiness whether in the higher worlds or in this world itself rajasah those who are endowed with rajoguna mathyatisthanti they will be stuck here as human beings and they will be given another opportunity to move forward jaganya gunavrttisthaha jaganya is a beautiful word jagana means these thighs below the navel so people who are thinking of lust and anger and greed and all those things these people they are thinking of sex only they are interested in filling their stomach what in tantric language they call it the kundalini is moving in between these three chakras what is it eating evacuating producing etc. that is the nature of animals so jaganya gunavrttisthaha whose minds never rise beyond this body consciousness and this is the nature of body consciousness eat, drink etc. how do we know that's a beautiful Sanskrit verse says ahara nidra bhaya maithunancha samanam etat pashubhih naradham ahara eating food nidra sleeping bhaya fearing enemies fearing that we lose something fearing we may not get something maithuna complete sex sexual life this is common to all the human beings bodies and then animals there is absolutely no difference at all these people they are called tamasas adhagachanti means they go down but Vedanta never tells you go down and down and you will never come up however down you go you are a child of God you are endowed with divinity another opportunity will be given every new life every reincarnation is a new opportunity for people to come up so this is what he said satvasthah urdhvam gachchanti rajasah madhyatishthanti jaganya gunavrttisthah tamasah adhah gachchanti they go down it is only a repetition of what we have seen through different births whether it is the births below human nature or as human beings or in higher worlds like devas etc. the spirit the jivatma individual divine soul each soul is potentially divine experiences pleasure pain and delusion on account of its attachment to these three gunas as described earlier liberation is the ultimate goal it not is not only possible it is inevitable every seed under proper circumstances favorable circumstances atmosphere they have to manifest their own nature and according to Vedanta all of us are children of God potentially divine so there is no question of long time at all it is possible only through right knowledge liberation mukti moksha or self-knowledge identity with Paramatma is possible only through right knowledge what is the right knowledge? there is no difference between me and Bhagawan Bhagawan only is manifesting in this form for his own purpose we don't know what it is for some time so this is what Bhagawan Krishna is now telling after a long cycle of being born being dead the soul is evolving and then a time will come he becomes what is called an inquiring person this is the third stage in the Bhagavad Gita we get all human beings all are children of God all are struggling to evolve towards their own true nature that's why God calls them my devotees so I changed the order a little bit first the person is he became extremely aware conscious I am in danger turns towards God when everything else fails but he has reached a very grand state of progress even by this why? because he is turning only towards God and then God will come he will rescue him and then the man will become fearless now all the hidden desires come to the fore pouring out and then he becomes Artharthi he becomes what is called a desirer of many desires but he will not earlier he was doing whatever he thinks is appropriate to get his desires fulfilled now he doesn't do he turns only towards God and then he prays oh Lord I am praying to you even in our Puranas we get Rakshasas praying to Brahma or Shiva or Vishnu also sometimes because they are very clever fellows they know Vishnu is very clever he will not give or he will trick them in some way this is how devotees have created that thought about an idea about Vishnu a very tricky fellow Krishna is a very tricky fellow Narada is a very tricky fellow etc. etc. very interesting the interpretation of our Puranas so this person he prays to God earnestly sincerely and believes that if he does this prayer according to certain rules regulations his desires will be fulfilled and God does fulfill his desires and then he satiates himself and then a time will come
