We are studying Shri Suttam. The only purpose is Shri Lakshmi Prasada. The grace of the Divine Mother herein called as Lakshmi Devi. And as we discussed, Shri Devi is not merely a Goddess of Wealth. Or Shri is the Goddess of Wealth. But Wealth is not only money, property, name and fame, power. Wealth means including all the spiritual qualities. And that is beautifully brought here in these 15 rigs of this Shri Suttam. And there are 3 to 5 authors, the Rishis. So from each one, some rigs had come. Whatever comes out of the Rishi's mouth is called Rig. That is Absolute Truth. What we call the knowledge which we cannot get through the sense organs. Ati Indriya Jnanam. We have been discussing practically in our last class. We have taken up the 9th Rig. I welcome Shri Lakshmi who is so forgiving like the Mother Earth. Who is always prosperous. And who is the supreme ruler of all creatures in this world. Just as we say, Ishwara Sarva Bhutana. Ishwara means the ruler. Ruler of the entire universe. What does that mean? He is not like a dictator. But like the mother of all mothers. One beautiful way to understand it is, A thousand ornaments are made out of gold. A million pots are made out of clay. And a billion items of furniture have been made out of wood. So in this case we have to say, Gold, clay or wood is the ruler. Without whose existence, The things we call by different names, Cannot exist. And whatever depends upon the cause, That is called effect. So every effect is nothing but, In this particular way, Every effect is ruled over by the cause. Not in the sense of one man trying to dominate another man. Or even among animals also, There is a monkey king. There is a lion king. There are what is called, The leaders of different tribes. And even among wolves, There is a leader is there. And very interestingly, Among the wolves, It is the mother, A female wolf, Which would be the ruler. Similarly among the elephants also, It would be the grand matriarch. So we can say that, Without whose presence, Without whose blessings, Or grace or help, Support, The other animals, Depending upon them, Cannot even survive. In that sense, Mother Lakshmi, The divine mother, Is the ruler of all. In fact, according to Hinduism, We have to understand, There is no male or female. We have to get rid of that idea. So power, energy, Is it male or female? Quality can never be, Male or female. Friendliness, Love, Service, These are called concepts, Not percepts. So there cannot be, Any question of male, female, Or anything. This divine mother, That means automatically, The matrix, The creatrix, This entire universe. And as far as, We human beings know, Earth, Is the supporter of everything. We are born of the earth. All the food material. Earth stands for, Food material. Therefore, We are born, Out of the earth, And we are sustained by the earth, Continuously. And we go back to earth. That is why, In Christianity, At the end of the funeral service, Dust unto dust. Dust unto dust. Dust means earth. Unto earth. That is the purpose of, Either burial, Or cremation, In Hindus, Or in Christians, Or in Muslims, etc. So in this ninth trick, We are talking about, This divine mother, Specifically, In the form of, Prithvi Tattva. That is the element earth. How do we know? Gandhadwaram. So a beautiful description, By the rishis, One of the three or five rishis, Kardama, Chikleta, etc. She is called Gandhadwara. Just as, If you enter through a doorway, Which is made up of, Very beautiful, Sandalwood. Then as soon as you approach near, Like night queen, The flower night queen, Which spreads its fragrance, Even at a distance, And especially if the, Wind is blowing, We can get it, Beautiful intoxicating smell, For a long time, Long distance also. So like that, As soon as we enter into the, Sandalwood tree, Doors or windows, Or a house, Immediately we find, A tremendous amount of, What we call, Beautiful fragrance. Very not only, Pleasing, Fragrance. That is why sandalwood is used, In the form of incense sticks, Especially for puja, etc. So beautiful, Fragrance will be there. And this fragrance, Is the special element of, Earth. Gandha. That is why when we offer, A flower, At the time of the Vesper, Flower represents, Fragrance. In fact we should not do Arathrikam, With any flower. It must be a flower, Which is giving, A very pleasing fragrance. And this is representative of the, One of the most important elements, Called the Earth. Prithvi Tattva. And this Prithvi is one of the, Panchabhutas. So Gandhadwaram, She is our origin. She is our sustainer. And ultimately, We all go back into our cause, Which is the, Mother Earth. Every human being, Had realized this one. This is indicated here. I want to welcome, The Divine Mother called Shri, Or here specifically called Lakshmi. And what is the, Speciality of the Earth? So many beautiful verses, Are dedicated, To describe, The forbearing and, Forgiving qualities, Of the Earth. How many atrocities we commit, We dig, We destroy and we fill, With all sorts of filth. Just like a pregnant mother, Who is, Not only nourishing, But cleaning the baby's, What is called, Throw outs. And keeping the baby, Absolutely space, Within her womb. So also this Divine Mother, Is wearing in our, Mythological understanding. Sometimes, We misbehave so badly, That the Earth could not, Wear it. And she starts shaking, With grief, With burden. A prayer to the, Divine Lord Vishnu, Her husband, That is the Chaitanyam, The consciousness aspect. That is why, It is said, Mother Earth takes the form of a cow, Or the form of a woman, And she goes and weeps, I cannot bear this burden. What does it mean? It means overpopulation? No, no. Children, Or offspring, Who are misbehaving, And of all the creation, The burden falls only, On the conscious human beings. An animal misbehaves, And they never kill. Not only that, If their numbers increase, By any chance, For whatever reason, Mother Earth has got, A scheme, How to get rid of them, Either through disease, Or etc. So even the earthquake, Is only a way of getting rid of them, Reducing their burdens. And it is said, If people misbehave, In mass, Then earthquakes, Then thunderstorms, Unseasonal rains, Droughts, Or too much of rain, All these happen, When we, Human beings, Suppose to behave in a particular way, Disregard the, Instructions of the scriptures, etc. That is indicated here, Gandhadwaram, That is, she is Mother Earth, And her special element is, This, Sense of smell, And the sense organ is given, So that we can, Enjoy the fragrance. Not only that, If we take the science deeply, The most important, Element, For the survival, Of any living creature, Is smell. So, Not only survival, But also, Escaping from death, etc. That is why, Whenever we smell, Then it becomes poison. But what is poisonous, To some, Becomes the most suitable food. Nothing is, Given up as waste. Nothing goes waste. For everything, A type of creature is created by Mother Earth, So that, Everything is recycled. Even the most decomposing thing, Is the most sweetest food, For some, Insects, Grubs, Or dung, Beetles, etc. And when we study, Nature, Like David Attenborough, Tried to do his best, Say if an animal is dead, And the skin will be so tough, It is not so easy, Like your, Overboiled rice, Something can go, And you can immediately eat. It is so tough. So, first, One kind of animal will come, And whatever it can eat, It will eat. Then a second kind of animal will come, But the first animal cannot access, The second animal, Or second world. Like that, Everybody will have their own share, And that is how, A limited sustenance, And all that is represented, By this word, Gandhadwara, And she is Dura Darshan, Darshan means, She who can be captured, God can never be, Captured by force, Because he is the, Embodiment of force, Embodiment of energy, Ya Devi Sarva Bhutesho, Shakti Roopena Samsthita, The only way is, A loving, longing, devotional, Prayer, O Mother, I am your child, And she comes running, By Mantra, Tantra, There are so many people who believe, In black magic, etc. And, They get hold of some, Bhuta Pritha Prashacha, And then in the end, They pay a very heavy price, Even their very lifestyle, Will be so horrendous, It is beyond description, God is easily available, If we call, On God, My dear Mother, I am thy child, Please come to me, I cannot live without you, A sincere prayer, With intense longing, And this was the methodology, Sri Ramakrishna had adopted, I totally depend upon you, Firm conviction, Rakshasya Saithi Vishwasaha, That is the only way, Mother comes, That means Mother's grace will come, That means, We are uplifted, Not only, She gives physical sustenance, Intellectual sustenance, Aesthetic sustenance, Moral sustenance, Also spiritual sustenance, That is what is indicated, Nitya Pushtam, And she will give us, She will nourish us, Nityam, Not that she just comes once in a year, And then nourishes us, Because we are ungrateful, We do not offer thanks to her, Because, Not having devotion is called, Not giving thanks, A person who doesn't have devotion, Once in a year, He goes and attends some puja, And he says, I have finished my obligation, It is not that, Every single second, It is God, Divine Mother, In the form of the earth, In the form of water, In the form of heat, In the form of Pranavayu, That is Oxygen, And in the form of Akasha, The opportunity to move about, To perform activities, She is, Sustaining us, She is nourishing us, And, She is called Kareeshani, This word is a very peculiar word, Don't connect it with, The Dhatu, Kri Dhatu, That is action, Kareeshani means Kowdung, That is she comes in the form of the Kowdung, You know in Hindu, Orthodox families, Kowdung is cherished very, Valued very highly, Is it antiseptic, I don't know, Definitely I think, If there is Kowdung smell, I will run away, And all Bhutas will run away, And I think even, All these biotics, Everything will run away, But it is the most sacred thing, One of the, Five things, Drawn from a cow, Including the urine of the cow, But we know that, For the organic, Cultivation, These two are most important things, So Kareeshani, Means Kowdung, So where there is, Let there be, Plenty of Kowdung, How does she nourishes, Through Kowdung, What does it mean, That means it indicates, Plenty of animals, Let us remember, We are talking about, Agricultural civilization, Where in those days, Animals, Play most important role, So the Kowdung, Cow urine, Is most marvelous food, For the mother earth, And that is called, Organic, very healthy, And it is also what we call, Recycling, whatever is coming, So a person, Upon whom the divine mother, Bestowed her grace, There will be plenty, And in the earlier days, A person of wealth, Is called Godhani, A person has got lots and lots of, Animals, especially cows and bulls, Bulls, For cultivation, Cows for milk, And for increasing the, Their tribe, Etc, And cow's milk, As we all know, Is the greatest, Substitute to, One's own mother's milk, The milk of, The mother of any creature, Animals or anybody, Is most suited, For the welfare, for the health, Of that particular, Young one, So this indicates, That Nityapushtam, Because the mother, Sustains all the time, Where there is plenty of cow dung, The earth becomes, Evergreen, And, Because people used to live, According to their ancient faith, There used to be, Seasonal rains, And as much rain as is necessary, For the crops, etc, To grow properly, So cattle indicate crops, Crops indicate, Plenty of, Grains, etc, Rice, etc, For them, not only to eat, But to sustain the guests, Also to perform Yajnas, Yagas, etc, And many of them, They used to, Sustain many, Visitors, That is why, That is one who donates, Plenty of food, He performs a Puja, And whoever comes to visit, That Puja, and they know automatically, They are given, A lot of food, So it is possible, The cow dung indicates, Lot of cattle, And lot of cattle indicate, The prosperity, Divine Mother's prosperity, And it means health, It means wealth, It means very good children, Everything, That goes to make up, A person's happiness, Is indicated, Through this 9th Rig, And then, This Divine Mother, Is the cause of everybody, Therefore she is called, Ishwarim Sarvabhoothanam, Every creature, Living or non-living, So you may be wondering, Living creature we can understand, So what about the mountains for example, Mount Everest, Was it there at a particular time? No, It was not existing, Then something happens, Of course science explains it, The tectonic plates come together, And then they push, And then as a result of it, Slowly the mountain grows, And after maybe several millions, Or billions of years, It slowly starts again, To go back, Anything that has a birth, Has a growth, Has a decline, And finally it disappears, This is called death, Whether it is cities, Whether it is deserts, Whether it is mountains, Whether it is forests, Everything has a birth, And who is it, That sustains, That creates, That destroys, Destruction means recycle, Not non-existence, And such an idea, Of this God, In the form of, Our Divine Mother, I wholeheartedly invite, Which child, Which baby, Does not wholeheartedly, Long to see, His mother especially, And that is the mother, Shriyam, Shri Lakshmi, This is the meaning, I invoke Shri Devi here, In my home, Or wherever I am, Or not only home externally, But especially into my heart, A fragrance of flowers etc., Signifies the mother of, Tremendous power, Especially earth, And she represents, Abundance of cattle wealth, She is the supreme ruler, Sustainer, Of all living beings, She is the very life of every creature, And she is worshipped by the, Divine elephants, And her glory, Is elucidated highly, In the scriptures, So this is what, We wanted to convey in our last class, Now we will move on to the, Tenth Rig, This is a marvelous Rig, Which says, That I am not merely, A selfish person, Who wants to take advantage, Of my mother, My mother is the, Ruler of this entire universe, I exert my power, As her child, To squeeze, As much of selfishness, As possible through her, No, The most important part is, Not only I should have, External wealth, But more importantly, I should have, Inner wealth, That would be most important thing, Once during my talks, I have quoted, Buddha's conversation, With a farmer, So just to remind you very briefly, You must note down, And remember whenever I refer, Otherwise it will be, Repetition of the whole lecture only, Once Buddha went out for, Alms, Stood in front of a farmer's house, It was raining, And then Buddha stood, Silently waiting, And the householder, a farmer, A very prosperous farmer, And then he was not, Believing, So this conversation or dialogue, Took place in the form of, Some beautiful poetry, It comes in the life of Buddha, Especially in the gospel of Buddha, By Paul Carus, So, The farmer looking at it, He says, I have fields, I have cultivated my fields, And it has yielded me, Plenty of food, And I have cooked my food, And I have, Eaten to my complete satisfaction, Oh rain, You can rain, As much as you want, Buddha understood the implication, Meaning that, You are a parasite, Upon society, You don't cultivate like me, You don't do anything, Then Buddha is replying, Oh mind, I have cultivated you, You know there is a beautiful, Bengali song, If only you had cultivated, Oh mind, Then you would have, Harvested, Pure gold, So I have cultivated, My body, I have cultivated my mind, I have subdued, All my negative qualities, I have kept my mind, Under control, I am absolutely content, With what I have done, Oh rain, Go on raining, As much as you can, Then the farmer goes on replying, So I have plenty of, Wealth, And I am storing all that wealth, Even in future, I have nothing to worry about, And Buddha replies, I have reached the goal of life, I also have nothing to worry about the future, Let whatever happens, At the end of life, You know I am going to become, One with the supreme reality, Thus a very beautiful conversation, Dialogue takes place, And at the end, By the grace of Buddha, The farmer realized, While he was talking, About the external life, Which can change in a second, For example, If there were to be no rain, For 2-3 years, This person cannot cultivate, Everything accumulated will disappear, Or thieves can take away, Or fire also can burn, Everything down, Anything can happen, But the wealth that Buddha had accumulated, Nobody can burn, Nobody can take away, In fact, Even if somebody takes that wealth, He will become, As rich as Buddha, And he can spread it in his term, There is nothing called, Stealing knowledge, So at the end, The farmer comes out running, Falls at the feet, Of Buddha, And takes refuge in him, And Buddha, Accepts him as one of his disciples, And he became one of the, Great disciples of Buddha, Realizing God, So this is what we have to understand, Oh Mother Lakshmi, Please bless me, To have good thoughts, Allow me to experience, Bliss, Truth in all my words and actions, The happiness arising out of, Completeness, Please bless me, To have fame and name, So, Divine Mother, I am not asking for money, Because every damned businessman, By hook or crook, They will go to, Any lengths, You take any modern, What you call firm, Be it Microsoft, Be it Apple, Be it anything, They all have only one goal, How much more money, We can squeeze, Out of our own customers, They cheat their own loyal customers, Not giving them, What is really useful, Giving them, Slowly, slowly, Drip by drip, drop by drop, Not thinking their welfare, This is called utter, Selfishness and cruelty, Now, These people are earning, Billions of rupees, But they don't understand, In a second they can die, Their minds, In a second they can have accidents, And anything that goes up, Also can come down, So intense competition is there, Day and night, They forget the reality of the world, And think about, But here is a, Real devotee of God, And what does he say, Manasahakamam akotim, So Mother, Bless me to have, What is called, Anubhadrani Pashyami, Only, Those kind of events, Those kind of thoughts, Those kind of words, Which will lead me, Towards God, Which will help me, Grow in devotion, In knowledge, In discrimination, In dispassion, It can come only by your grace, Even that greatest, Hardest teacher of Advaita Vedanta, In his Viveka Jodamani, Called Prakarana Grantha, He goes on, The very beginning itself, Three things are obtained, Are obtainable, Only by the grace of God, What are they? Manushyatvam, Mumukshatvam, Mahapurushasamsayaha, Here, to be born as a human being, Is the greatest privilege, But, Billions of human beings, Now nearly, Seven and a half billion of human beings, How many of them, Are true devotees of God, And that is indicated here, That, Let me think only, Spiritual thoughts, Ultimately, What remains, As me, as mine, What, even after the, Death of this body, That comes with me, is called Dharma, So let my thoughts be, Dharmic thoughts, Let my words be, Dharmic words, Ano Bhadrani Pashyanto, On every side, forever, Only, that which, Gives me, The highest welfare, spiritual welfare, Let it only come, Even this Shanti Mantra, That we sing, That even today's Shanti Mantra also, That let my mind, And speech be together, And let them help me, Understand, The teachings of the Rishis, called Veda, And let me never forget, And this comes only, By the grace of God, And let me harmonize my life, According to what I have understood, That there cannot be, Should not be, Any dichotomy, I know one thing, I behave in another way, Or, Even more directly, And then so many prayers, To Swasthina Indro, Then Swasthi, To Uposhan, Then Swasthi, Garuda, And Swasthi Brihaspati, Let all these representatives, Of God and Goddesses, Are different, What is called, Leaders of knowledge, Let these Gods and Goddesses, Bless me, With that wisdom, Whereby I am forever, Remains united with the Divine Lord, Most of the Upanishads, May be the essence we discussed, While discussing the Shanti Mantras, Now, This is also, So let my thoughts be, In accordance, With the Rishi's instructions, With the scriptural instructions, If we have to put it, In modern language, Let me think, Always in terms of, What Sai Ram Krishna had taught me, What Holy Mother had taught me, Let me, God realization is the goal of life, Always, Cultivate holy company, Now and then, Go into solitude, examine yourself, Pray, With intense longing, That you will reach God, And all the time, What is called, Cultivate discrimination, What is discrimination? Anything can happen to anybody, At any time, at any place, In any way, That is whatever is, Kshanika, Momentary, birth is Kshanika, Growth is Kshanika, Old age is Kshanika, Death also is Kshanika, Remember, Death also is Kshanika, Means what? If birth changes into death, Death also, Changes into birth, What was unmanifest, Becomes manifest, That is what we call birth, And it remains for some time, Visible and experienceable, And after that, What came from the unmanifest, Goes back into unmanifest, Once again to come, This is called the cycle of evolution, Until we know, Who we are, Who we are not, Who we are, Until we know who we are, And there would be no more, Birth or death, life or death, So until that time, We are standing on the, What we call evolutionary escalator, And there is no other choice, We can't jump here and there, Unlike the other escalators, So this is what, Bhagawan wants to tell us, This Rishi wants to tell us, Vacha Satyam, Satyam means, Let me speak words of truth, And let me speak only, What brings welfare, So the question came, What is your truth? Truth means, That which conduces to the welfare, Of both others, And through that, My own, When others are benefited, Automatically, I also will be benefited, True benefit, Is that which never harms anybody, But helps everybody, So, Oh Mother, this is possible, Only by your grace, That is what, Holy Mother wants to convey, That stop, Criticizing others, Because you don't understand, Who is the other person, At least do you understand, What you are, Because you are full of holes, Therefore, find out your own defects, Repair yourself, And then you will, Realize ultimately, Who you are, In Bhaja Kovindam, We have discussed this part, Who are you? Who are your parents? Where from have you come? Oh brother, think about it, Kabir thus sings, So melodiously, In the form of a bhajan, He says, That always think, All your days have passed in vain, Without thinking of God, In the last verse, He says, Oh brother, Listen what your brother, Kabir is telling you, There are millions and millions, Of great souls, Who understood this truth, They have obtained, The grace of God, And they have gone, Out of this miserable samsara, When? Long back, And what are you doing? You are still only, Moving hither and thither, At the railway station, How many trains have come? How many trains have gone? How many boats have come? How many boats have carried the passengers, Across this ocean of samsara? But you are only, Moving near about the Gods, But you never ventured, Into the boats themselves, Which could have taken away, How many people have already, Crossed this one? That is what He is telling, That it is possible for me, I must be a seeker of truth, Satya Kama Jabala, I must be a speaker of truth, I must be a thinker of truth, I must be a devotee of truth, That is why, Mahatma Gandhi used to say, I do not say, I say, Truth is God, And it makes a lot of sense, Think over it, So, O Mother, It is an earnest prayer, And this prayer comes only, After many births, Then a bit of awakening comes, Then, I wake from this, Long time, Dream of Maya, Jagrata, Very apprehensive, Awakened, That is, time is passing, My life is passing away, Death is approaching, When am I going to reach, The other shore, I am still sitting here, So, O Mother, By your grace, You endow me, without your grace, Even the desire to come to you, Will not arise, That is called, Vidya roopena samsthita, Buddhi roopena samsthita, Then our buddhi, Becomes awakened, Dhiyo yonaha, Prachodayat, The first thing, I am born as a human being, I am wasting my time, Let me no more waste my time, And then, Even the awakening of the buddhi, It is also the grace of God, And when the good times come, And when do the good times come? When we even, Blindly follow, The vidhi and nishedha, Of the scriptures, That is why, We must be extraordinarily fortunate, To be born, Into that particular family, Particular tradition, Ram Krishna used to say, That my role model, Is my father, He never deviated from truth, His whole life is spent only, In the true worship of God, And Gods and Goddesses, Have started begging him, So three incidents, I will tell you, Just to remind ourselves, So Shudhiram used to get up, And then, He used to go and collect flowers, And suddenly he saw, A young girl, Eight or nine years old, And she was holding the branches, She was holding the branches, Where there were some flowers, And Shudhiram could not, Recognize her, Because everybody in the village, Knows everybody, And then he in wonder asked, Who are you my child? She said, I am the mother, Who you are worshipping, And you are doing, I am pleased with you, Because you are worshipping me, With so much of devotion, And father, she is addressing, Him as the father, I have come to help you, To gather flowers, Of course I call it very selfish, So that you can worship me only, It is not that I am specially, Doing any favor for you, Anyway, then second incident, One noon, He was resting in a vast field, He was coming from, Some other place, And then in a dream, Shudhiram Chandra, In the form of Saligrama, Appeared to him, And then not in the form of Saligrama, In an actual human form, Divine form, Shudhiram, I am lying down here, For a long time, Nobody is taking care of me, I beg you, He might not have used these words, I beg you, That you take me home, And you treat me as I deserve to be treated, And Shudhiram found out, It is absolutely true, Third instance of course, When Shudhiram went to, Gaya, to perform, All the Pitru Rina, Pinda, Pindadana, And then Gaya Vishnu himself, Begged him, I would like to be born, As your son, And then, Shudhiram was so moved, Said Lord, I am poor, How can I serve you, The Lord of the entire universe, And then the Divine Lord said, That whatever you eat, Whatever you have, I will be more than satisfied with that, I don't require anything, I will accept it, So this is the condition, Not only we beg God, God also begs human beings, But, Who are those human beings, Who are sticking to truth, Shudhiram Krishna used to say, My father was highly devoted, People in the village, They dare not sit, When he was coming, Walking nearby, They all used to consider him, As an ancient Rishi, And this spontaneous respect, Doesn't come, Unless a person is really leading, That kind of life, So, Oh mother, I can only lead this life, By your grace, Even to lead a spiritual life, A moral life, And a life full of auspicious qualities, Only your grace is necessary, And then of course, Pashunam roopam annasya, So I want food, What purpose, So that, I can feed other people, You remember the story of, How Janaka Maharaja, Obtained the, Instructions from Yajnavalkya, Every time Yajnavalkya, Instructs in something wonderful, Janaka Maharaja was offering, One thousand, I offer you one thousand cows, Next instruction one thousand cows, I had my own special, Skeptical doubts, About this kind of things, Okay, You look after one thousand cows, Are you giving servants also to look after them, Cowherd boys, There is no mention at all, And that is why Yajnavalkya wisely, Refused to accept it, What was he telling, My father told me, That never accept anything, Until you instruct the student, Completely, And I only instructed a little bit, Until I complete, I will not accept it, So like that, At the very end, When Yajnavalkya understood, He had completed the instructions, Then Janaka got up and said, I can never repay, What is called Acharya Rina, Vishya Rina, And immediately said, I offer you my whole kingdom, Like Shivaji, Offered the whole kingdom, To his Guru, Samartha Ramdas, God doesn't want anything, But God doesn't also, Want us to think, That we own something, Everything belongs to God, This is what Sarayam Krishna in simple words said, That if God gives you something, Accept it as a trust, You are a trustee, You are not the owner, You also enjoy, But help others also, So may I be truthful, In all my words and actions, The happiness, That comes arises, Out of completeness, And please bless me also, With plenty of food, And then not only that, Shri Yashaha, May Shri wealth, Prosperity, good fortune, Abide in me, By your grace, And may I be well known, Not notorious, Well known means what? A person is living a godly life, If at any time, We require any help, We can go to him, He will never refuse, Like Shibi Chakravarti, Or like Satyari Chandra, That is why even in the, What is called poet Kalidasa, In his Raghuvamsha, He describes, A Grihastha, Should acquire more and more wealth, Why? Because, Sarva Upakara Kshamaha, And Grihastha Ashrama is, Sarva Upakara Kshamam Ashrama, The stage, Of householder in life, Capable of, Rendering service, To the people belonging, To the other three Ashramas, That is Brahmacharis, And Vanaprasthis, And Sanyasins, And then, That you must, By proper, Cultivation, For Grihastha, Not for other three states of life, Ashramas, You must, Therefore a householder, Should procure, One way or the other, That should not be the translation, By proper means, Plentiful food, So that they may say in his home, That the food is ready for this guest, Anybody who comes, A guest in Sanskrit is called, Atithi, Atithi means appointment, Who comes by previous, What is called notice, Atithi means suddenly they come, Do you have food? You must give that food, Which is desirable, In the hands of every good householder, So that, They can serve, But so many rich people, They fritter away, The waste, And they want to do all for themselves, And even then, They are not satisfied at all, So, According to Hindu custom, Food is divided, This is extra information, Into four types, Bhojya, That which can be put in the mouth, And masticated, That means you go on chewing it, Bhakshya, Swallowed, So certain things, Like liquids, You don't need to chew, Like for example, Mango juice, Or any juice for that matter, You just swallow it and enjoy it, Lehya means like ice cream, You have to go on licking, And there is, Choshya, sucked, That means like sugarcane, You have to suck it, And throw the rest of it away, Anyway this is rough, But in another classification, Panchavitha, Bhakshyana, So five types are there, Including payasam etc, So a householder's dining table, Providing all these five types of food, Especially, To revered personages, Elderly people, Relatives, Parents, Respectable Rishis, Or Brahmanas, Atithis etc, So for that, How does this money will come? Money will come only, Or which is wealth comes only, By the grace of the mother, This is one of the most important thing, You want wealth, You want health, You want good qualities, You want that sharp intellect, Anything in life, Is obtainable, Only by the grace of the, Divine mother, This is a, Marvelous teaching, Let us pray to the divine mother, But as this, 10th week, It tells us, Let me be pure, Let me be truthful, Let me desire, What is beneficial, What stows, Auspiciousness to, Everybody, Not only me, That is called Dharma, And let me also let all my thoughts, Not only my speech, Not only my actions, But all my, Very thoughts, Where the origin of, Talking and doing, Originate, That thought is the source, So let my thoughts be, Anubhadrani Vashyantu, Let they be, Of truth, Only truthful, And truth is that which, Conduces welfare, To everybody, So that is the essence of the, 10th week, Then we enter into the 11th, As we said earlier, Kardama and Chikleta, Were supposed to be the two, Rishis who contributed, Some of the rigs, And all those rigs, Combined together, Some classified as, Three authors, Some as four authors, Some as maximum five authors, So here, two of the authors, Are specially mentioned, In the 11th Rig, Kardama, And in the 12th Rig, Chikleta, So these are not special words, Names of two of these people, So Kardamena Prajabhuta, Mahisambhava Kardama, Shriyam Vasayam Ekule, Mataram Padmamalini, It is a prayer, Shri Ram Krishna, It is a beautiful teaching, Suppose, There is a very wealthy person, He has a child, Whom the parents, The wealthy parents love, More than their own life, And if somebody wants to please, For whatever purpose, Those wealthy parents, Especially the person, May be with selfish purpose, They must love this child, They must show respect, Because, The parents will be very happy, When their children, Are shown so much of love, What is called, Intuit, This person loves my child, He will do whatever best, To help, to protect, Or to entertain my child, And therefore they will be highly pleased, So a small modern example, Supposing, A householder, Has a baby, And both husband and wife, Both of them work, So both of them, The mother can get, Holiday only for a short time, 3 months or 6 months or whatever it is, What is called, The maternity leave, But after that, No company can afford them, Especially private companies, So they have to hire, Some nanny, And then, There are different types of nannies are there, So suppose they come across a nanny, Who is very loving, And she is more than the mother, Like a mother, She looks after the baby, Naturally the parents will highly value, That particular nanny, Because of what, She is only doing, What is necessary, For their baby, We can leave our baby, In the hands of this trustworthy person, This person will do the best, And, That is the thing also, So what is it, How does it apply to us, God is like our mother, Who gave us birth, And if we can cultivate, We can somehow obtain, The grace of the, Children of God, The sages, The saints, The company, Then God will be highly pleased, Because a disciple, Cherishes his Guru, And a Guru also, Cherishes the disciple, Their bond is a spiritual bond, They love each other, More than anything else, Because there is no worldly restriction, Or limitation there, They are related, They are contacted, Tied to each other, In God's love, Both Guru and the disciple, And that is what is said, O Mother, Here, Kardama Rishi, And he, Is sometimes considered as the, Father of Lakshmi, Sometimes considered as the, Child of Lakshmi, Either way, You pray to the supposing, You go to Holy Mother's mother, Shyama Sundari Devi, And if Shyama Sundari Devi is pleased, Holy Mother will be pleased, Or you please Radhi, Some people tried that trick, And then Holy Mother will be, Highly pleased, But it should be a genuine love, So it is a prayer for Kardama, Whether he is considered as a father, Or as a son, That if you tell Mother Lakshmi, Or your daughter, Or your mother, Then she is assured to come, Beautiful, but a short trick, We will discuss about it, In our next class, Om Jananem Sharadam Devem, Ramakrishnam Jagadgurum, Padapatmetayoshritva, Pranamami Mohurnmuhuhu, May Ramakrishna, Holy Mother, And Swami Vivekananda, Bless us all with Bhakti, Ramakrishna.
